I was playing one day with the expired domains and found a couple of pretty promissing domains - I have no clue why their owners let the domain names to expire but is seams like they had very good traffic according to Alexa (I know it's not accurate, but I looked in comparison to other sites). Anyways I was bidding on one domain and was pretty positive that I would get it - I was ready to bid as hight as 300 and even 400 bucks... well... withing last half hour of the auction on the domain (at snapnames) the price went up twice and of course I wan't sure if I should even bid that high... the auction ended at $1250 for the domain name I was bidding on.... nothing great about the name - just the traffic that I spotted at Alexa and Google PR5.
Well, it surely raised my adrenaline - it was really fun to watch how bids changing withing minutes... the main thing - I've never bought an expired domain name and never took advantage of one to make some income. Have you? Can you share some experience? Whad do you do with it later? Do you restore it to the same theme or close to it? Or trying to push something new on that domain? I will watch that domain that I couldn't buy and see what's the new owner doing with it  Should be fun. Anyways, I thought I would start this discussion since it seams like pretty good way to make some money quite fast. |
