In other words he wasn't going to disclose his recipe for his success and asked me to get a site up and learn that way. Best advice he ever gave me.

You can read all the info on the net but if you don't take action and get a site up and running and learn by trial and error it ain't gonna to happen.
Two years? You can setup a site in 5 minutes. And what does KFC have anything to do with websites? There are books on website building with HTML and free site tutorials and even programs like Dreamweaver if you are to lazy to learn.

This thread is one of the best.

When I first started, I lost a lot of time doing things that wasn't working, until I found a mentor.

I made $400 with a tiny list of 50 subscribers in the forex market, and then, the Mentor closed my account, took the money I made as well as the other 60 affiliates under his mentorship...

he ripped me of my first $400 in affiliate comissions BUT believe me, I learned a lot.. Actually, all that he taught me, I already knew it because I was reading a lot and bought some books, but I was stuck in information overload.

Personaly, I like forums and mentors. A mentor can help you directly with your problem and you go on.

If you know someone who is running a large successful website or Internet business, ask them if you can help (for money or for the experience) and try to gain as much from it as you possibly can. This mentorship will help you start to gain a knowledge of what works and what doesn’t.
This is great information, but how can someone like me find someone who would be willing to help?

Wow, so no one read books lol. Its strange how some many people earn so much yet did little research book wise even though so many of these professionals release books.

instead of buying a book, buy a domain and get something online and earning, play around with your ads and learn from your mistakes.

Thats what I have done and its working well for me!

Why don't we starters buy those books:
  1. Why would we believe them?
  2. Online you can't read a page to see if it is written clear
  3. Do they really make a lot of money
  4. Why would they reveal their secret
I'm a starter 2, at least an online starter. I'm hoping to find a mentor, and I was hoping to find one here. If anyone wants to help a Belgian, you know where to find me.

i would start how I did....I got a copy of E-myth and i have never looked back.

its gets you into gear and motivated and changes your whole mindset.

then you need to get yourself around the top people learn from them and then get some courses that have been created by the best IM gurus out there.

that will get you off to a flying start.

Good day,

You learn from your mistakes or others.

Common sense is the key. You have to be willing to take risks but calculated ones.

If you want to jump start your program then go to those who are doing already what you want and model them.

I have learn't all that I know from online Forums. I have never brought or read an ebook in my life.

Forums are good as you can see many peoples opinions and also ask questions if you don't quite understand something.

Having a sound business model is worth more than learning the technical specifics.
