Monetizing a parked domain...

Newbie question - I purchased a domain (randomly) and I added it to a parking account at NameDrive. However, I found out you can only earn legitimately from organic traffic (type ins and search engines).

How can I earn if search engines won't index the site because it's parked with no content?

Does anyone have any experience in this field?

After speaking with someone on Digital Point Forums, he told me that only typo domain names e.g. myspce dot com earn as they are direct type ins.

Thanks in advance.

Type-ins account for a low-to-mid-teens percentage of search traffic. But you'd better have a good generic .com if you want to make any good money off it. Typos work too, until you get a C&D. You can also buy expiring domains that have a lot of inbound links.

Thanks for your reply.

With regards to expiring domains, inbound links are not allowed with some companies as the traffic is not organic.

How do you suggest you monetize a domain without breaking the rule for only having organic traffic?

Does anyone know if this rule also applies to Sedo parking as well?

I know not all my parked traffic is organic....

Hi Khalid

The rule applies to Sedo as well. I use both Sedo and Namedrive and the other day Sedo management complained about one of my domains that had a lot of inbound links. They thought I was still doing a lot of linking on it.

Your best be might be to develop the site an add content to it.

Hope this helps

Cheers

You are 100% able to get AdSense income from parked domains, as long as you are with an authorized AdSense domain park, like Sedo. Google has a special program for parked domains

The only kind of type-in traffic you're going to get is from misspellings of popular Web sites ... googlee.com, yahooo.com, etc.

I agree with you Worldwebuser that type in traffic is well overrated. Although some people are making a killing with them.

I have a pharmacy related domain that gets a CTR over 50%. I only get type in traffic. Type in traffic is good if you have a good domain name.
