Wait..... wait wait wait wait wait....

Their policy for disputed charges.... is that they immediately refund the money?

That's AWESOME! I'm totally signing up with them, buying a ton of links, and then disputing the charges for each and every one of them.

Ouch. I think you are better off selling links directly to other webmasters, especially if you have a high PR site. I know a guy by the name of Steve Pavlina.
His site (http://stevepavlina.com/blog) is a PR 7 site. He's able to get something like 700 bucks per link and people simply PayPay him money.

Did you email him back and ask for more information? Seems like a pretty quick rush to judgement (on their part)...

I signed up with them a while ago, thanks for the head up. Another reason why we should all read TOS's.

I just got one from Linkworth as well:

Quote:
One of your advertisers has contacted us stating they did not wish to renew their ads this month. Unfortunately they did not read the terms
of service and cancel their ads prior to renewals. While we would love
to hold them to our terms of service, they have threatened to reverse
the charges on their credit card which puts us in a situation where we
must refund their charges for October.
So I am giving free advertising because they can't run their business right?

I e-mailed them and told them to eat the charges. They haven't even responded back yet. Amateurs!

I have no clue Laura. I asked them to reimburse me if they couldn't enforce their policy and the response was pretty long winded but this line from it sums it up.

Quote:
If money is not being paid to us, then money is not being paid to you. It's really as simple as that.
Another statement in their response I didn't like:

Quote:
Looking at your account, we send a lot of business your way, so I would hope that
is enough to make up for this
Yes you send me business, that's why I use you, but I also make you money. You would think they would reimburse me to keep me happy since they make money off me as well but I guess it goes back to; "if we don't make money, you don't".

Bottom line is Linkworth can't enforce their policies so I have to eat it and give away free advertising.

man you guys are harsh. i guess i'm not as cut throat. i mentioned in another post that i've used these guys for a couple years and i've never had this happen to me. i've always been paid and would recommend them.

i guess i can see both sides of the coin but i thought i would point out the one's saying they don't enforce their policies, obviously they do because they didn't pay a disputed charge. i guess i understand from running my dating site i absolutely hate people that dispute charges. its so wrong because they make the charge and know they can get away with getting their money back. so on that front, i don't see why linkworth or any other company that takes cards should still have to pay if they don't get paid. so maybe you guys should not complain about linkworth and complain about the advertiser that disputed the charge. makes a little more sense to me.

so i will stand up for linkworth. they've been awesome to me and i've made a ton of money from them. if they had to reverse money because of some scumbag that disputes a charge, i'm mad at that advertiser not at linkworth.

go linkworth

I'm currently buying links from Linkworth for the keyword Neprinol. I have consistenly been in the top 5 links on the first page of google for a couple of years now. Within the last week I have dropped to #85 which is costing me tons of money by the day. This was Linkworth's response to me. "It seems that the search engines are going through an update so the totals are jumping around a little. You are currently #85 on Google. Give it a few weeks and it should rebound back into the top 5 where you have been. I thought this to be absolutely ridiculous and every time I try to call them they don't answer. Can someone give me any advice as to what I should do. I'm going to cancel my service asap if this isn't corrected. Any replies or suggestions would be truly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!!

Just happened across this old post. It's been a while but I thought I'd vouch for linkworth one more time, almost 3 years later.

I've never had issue with them. I make a ton of money and have learned the people that typically complain are the people who have crappy sites. I've had the biggest names of advertisers on my site which I'm not able to name, but business has increased every year.

To the guy who advertised with them, it's probably something you've done on your own or maybe you're not putting enough into it. Links are links. They can't punish someone for a link pointing to them. Think of how porn sites link to disney.com or something stupid like that if they don't want to ENTER their site. Is it disney.com's fault? nope. Hopefully things turned around for you.

Anyhow, just in case anyone reads this old post, I felt I needed to follow up my old post to let everyone know linkworth is for real and they can't help idiots try to dispute card charges. It's not THEIR policy, it's merchant companies who decide if money is returned or not. I think this is just a case of uneducated posters who feel they've been cheated. Think about it, if you're not paid, neither are they. Don't you think they would fight for their money too?

Anyhow, back off to reading more recent things.
