Just read about the new law being passed the will ban online gambling (or at least making payments to online gambling sites) illegal in the U.S., how will this effect you?
Not because of the law. The direction I wanted my business to go was 180 degrees from gambling.
Hard to have a portfolio of Christian websites and a poker website.
I still play (love Texas Holdem) but I don't try to get other people to play any more.
As for the gambling law. I did see that Washington D.C. did try to pass something at the local level. The old phone line law doesn't work with all the cable modem connections, so they had to re-work it.
Take Care,
Michael

I find this very interesting, but I think this will be a positive change. Kind of surprised it passed, but I'm not complaining. Now people will have more money left to send my way instead of to the casinos. :-D
OK, to tell the truth here. I've spent the past month building iCasinoReview.com and then this happens before I can even the doors. Just my luck! Looks like I need to brainstorm some more for ideas as to how to make some money online.
I think there's still definitely money to be made, not only is there still a HUGE worldwide online poker market outside of the US, there are still poker sites that cater to US players.
I've been in the industry for the past 2 years, the new laws have had a MASSIVE effect on everything that I had established during this time. At one point I earned 40k per month, which dropped to 10k per month, and it is down to 1k per month last month. Devastating to say the least. I am not selling my sites though, as I feel the industry will be revived at some point. Whether it is gambling which is regulated by the US govt (MGM Grand has been looking to get setup online), or a service like youteller.com which launches in March (they say they will be able to do US transactions). So we will see...For the time being it sucks!

Agreed. If/When regulation comes around, you'll be glad you held on to your gaming domains. Regulation would help things along, but you never know... there could be a "killer-app" for payment processing that comes along to shake things up again.
