I had tried interstitials once a few months ago and it nearly ruined me. My traffic went down 33% and revenue down 50%. Within 12 hours after I killed my interstitials my traffic AND revenue were at around 80% back to normal.

Since I only got 1 click off the interstitials, I have to assume they were put off by them. So I'll have to backup NBF on the whole "proceed at your own risk" thing

Wow! I made $0.093 eCPM all month for interstituals, and annoying my visitors

Off they go.

Test and measure, test and measure, repeat.

I have been using them for about a month now and I have to disagree with Laura, Enrique and Conan. I managed to monetize a forum of mine that used to earn a maximum of $0.10 per day with Adsense. With AdBrite my average seems to be at around $0.40 to $0.50 per day. It's not great, but it sure beats Google! (I haven't used their interstitals though.)

I'm afraid you're really comparing apples and oranges if you're not talking about interstitials. I love Adbrite, it accounts for around 20-25% of my revenue, it's specifically interstitials that some of us have problems with.

I forgot to mention in my previous post that I do believe that interstitials can work for sites with mega traffic, like 10k+ uniques per day, who can afford to lose a little traffic or have visitors loyal enough to put up with one interstitial a day. For smaller sites like mine, it's almost a death sentence!

If you at all depend on repeat visitors, building a loyal following, interstitials seem to me, from a novice perspective, to be the worst possible monetization methodology ever. It seems to be perfect if you don't care that visitors don't come back or they have a compelling need to come, say to download a file.
