Hi guys,
Just wanted to show you some of this. If you're getting 75k+ pgviews/day I'd thoroughly reccommend using adbrite for your interstitial ads - below are the current rates I'm achieving from my various advertisers:
File Den - File Den Interstitials (All pages) $10.000 (CPM)
File Den - File Den Interstitials (All pages) $220.000 (CPM!!!)
File Den - File Den Interstitials (All pages) $90.000 (CPM!!!)
File Den - File Den Interstitials (All pages) $270.000 (CPM!!!)
I can't reveal info on the advertisers etc, but most days we average > $150 CPM for our interstitial ads. No jokes.

Per day? All I've posted are the CPM rates I'm getting. Those are the 4 campaigns th at are currently running on our site. So one of the campaigns is $220 CPM, another $270 CPM, etc etc..

Wow. Can we say "advertising bubble?" There is no way rates like that can last...
What are interstitial ads anyway? Pop-ups?

I believe they are fullpage ads where their entire site is loaded. And a frame at the top asking you to continue on with the site you were at.

Yeah, that's right.
NBF - Yes it is possible, they've been like that for a considerable amount of time (over a month). $270 CPM is effectively a $0.27 CPC on their part if you think about it that way. So if they're getting targeted traffic it's a good deal on their part.

What kinds of cpms are you guys seeing from Adbrite for the small text link in-page ads (non-interstital)?

Ahhh, gotcha! I know exactly what they are now...
Wow. I just did the math. That would be a LOT of money every day and a LOT of pissed off members.
I hope it keeps up for you for a long time to come!

Yeah, they're great.
Well, not particularly. We get 25-30k visitors a day, yet that ad is shown 7,000 times a day.

Ahhh, I gotcha. Do you know how they determine when to place them? Every X visitor, by IP, etc?
Still, for 7,000 impressions at $150, that's $1,000ish a day (correct me if I didn't understand what you meant) - which is still a lot of money for most people. Honestly, I would consider doing far less banners on our site if something like interstitials would make up for it. So you have sparked my interest...

No idea how they determine when to place them. It should be $1k ish a day but there's some problems with the system atm as they've just implemented some changes.

Hmm, what does that mean exactly? Does that mean you aren't actually earning those rates, though they say you should be? I'm confused...

We were earning them rates but over the last couple of days there's a problem with their auctioning system as my account rep. has explained and something to do with optimizing the number of page views displayed has been broken meaning that not every ad view actually is an ad view.
Going to be fixed ASAP though from what I've been told. They're upgrading the system at the moment to make things better overall and this is just one of them things that has happened I guess.
Obviously they'll be trying to get me the most impressions as possible or they lose out on money themselves .

Okay, I talked to them about this. Here is how it works:
You are put in the marketplace and advertisers can bid to show their interstitial on your site. The minimum is $10 CPM ($7 net). It shows one time per unique per day. You can choose what action makes the ad appear (ie. going to a certain link). Since advertisers bid, it's possible to have one campaign run and then none for a while. This is not a network type thing. You approve all ads before they run.
So I told them we would be interested testing it out to see what we would fetch in the marketplace (since we approve all ads). If it was enough, we would consider it. Our rep had us add the tracking code to our site, though no ads would appear. It would be to collect data for our marketplace listing.
Well, we added it last night, and guess what? Yep, ads. I am so pissed off. A quick fingered member captured a screenie, so I sent off an email to my OOO rep. Hopefully someone else can get it shut off. Grrr... that just annoys me. But beyond that, I can't see that we have made any money off of them either.
So that's that story. I will update with progress.
Laura

Sorry not to report back... We got lots of orders for somewhat relevant companies, and most were $30+ CPM, but Adbrite's serving SUCKED. Every time I asked, they apologized and said they were making upgrades. It was just too much to ask that our members put up with these REALLY annoying ads that only serve occaisionally. If they were consistent, that would have been easier.
In the end, we didn't make much because Adbrite couldn't serve them properly. My advice is to proceed at your own risk. I won't use them again.
