I've got a forum I need to redesign to make it more appealing both to visitors and I want be able to sell well performing ads on there.

Since I'm poor I thought that maybe I could raise some cash for it by selling footer text links.

It's a PR3 forum with 173,000 pages indexed by Google using the "site:" command.

Any ideas for how I should price such links? They'd hardly be for a lot of traffic, more for SEO purposes I guess.

Edit: Currently around 1000 uniques per day according to Google Analytics. Visitor spikes whenever there is news (bands & artists music forum).

1 million+ posts? You could pretty easily ask for $20 a month, then add or subtract as necessary.

Yeah you can get anywhere from $20-40 on those links.

Yep. If I were you I would probably charge $30/month for text links.

That's probably the best link marketplace around. For a site as popular as yours, I see them selling fast too.

Proven not so easy to sell links, but I'm pretty crap at selling stuff in general.

I ended up putting the price at:
1 month = $15
6 months = $60
12 months = $100

For a link on both the forum and the website the forum belongs to.

I thought so too, still hard to find takers. People expect it to be traffic links. There has to be buyers somewhere though, seen much smaller forums sell 100 footer links for the same price.
