you may want to be more specific as in what you want mentoring specifically and specifically what you can offer in return.

Well my background is in software development not SEO, CPC, or CPM.
I've created a site which now has a PR of 5. I've read all about SEO, adsense hot shots etc that I can get my hands on. The site has more than 80,000 cars for sale but the traffic seems to have leveled off over the past 6 weeks or so.

I'm after someone who can coach me in the art of getting traffic to the site in exchange for a % percentage of generated revenue or cash.

The site has adsense on it and is already making money.

Hi,
Nice site.
I could help you out with one small change that should make a big difference. Your Title Tags need to be dynamic, descriptive and relevant to the content on the page. At present (about 80% pf the pages) you are either using the same title throughout the site, or using No Title or using something too generic like Nissan ABC.

Do some keyword research and build some better dynamic title structures.

Regards
Bob

Hey Bob,

Actually the Title of each car details page is a dynamically generated title that is the same as the type of car so a page that has a Nissan NXR will have a title of Nissan NXR.

I will take another look at the other pages though...thanks

Clarke,
That is a good start to the car details page but I think you would be better off going for a dynamic title structure along the lines of;

"Information on where to buy used" & [Car Manufacturer] & [Car Model] & "cars."

This will open you up to a much greater range of long tail keyword searchs.

BTW - I think you have an excellent, well laid out site and don't think you need a mentor. You just need to read through some good forums (like this) and blogs. Also listening to podcasts from webmasterradio will give you a massive insight into seo. Shows like SEO Rockstars, Strikepoint, The Pulse and Net Income will give you all the mentoring you will ever need.

And you should buy a copy of www.SeoBook.com.

Good luck,
Bob

Thanks for the tips Bob...I think the title suggestion is spot on thanks for the tip. Thanks for the kind words also

I do listen to Shoemoney on Webmasterradio...I will take a look at the SEO Book thanks

I'm also working on a new web2.0 service www.wHooiz.com (pronounced "who is") which is still in beta and I'd love to get your early feedback.

www.wHooiz.com is a bio/profile website focusing on bloggers and podcasters.

The genesis behind wHooiz.com is I read many many blogs but don't really know who the person behind the blog is!
wHooiz.com is about bringing the person behind the blog to the world and given them a centralized location for their contact details, blog URL etc.
Also there is technorati blog search functionality integrated into the profiles so that users can view what people are saying about that person.

I'd love it get your feedback and it goes without saying all EF members bio's on wHooiz.com and a blog post review of course

I'm hoping to build out the site based on suggested features...if someone wants a particular feature and it makes sense I will build it.

Thanks for your help dude:thumbup:

Hi Clarke,
I like the concept and the beta site. A couple of SEO tips and some other bits;

1. Title Tags again!. Longer more descriptive tags for the profiles page e.g. "Who is" [Pofile Name] - More information about [Profile Name].

2. I can't see the use of description tags. Again write more appealing decription tags that will help you get click throughs via the search engines. E.g. "Interested in [Shoemoney], then read this page for latest and most up to date profile of your favourite bloger [Shoemoney]". Not brilliant but i'm sure you get the gist.

3. Why not allow the bloggers to link in content via an RSS feed - a great way to add content. Ahah...Just saw the blog search tab...

4. Get some ideas from Squidoo.com in relation to revenue sharing. Also at Digital Point - forum users can put in their adsense codes and share the revenue with DP.

5. I thought the mypicklist.com concept was good. Why not let bloggers enter their top ten product picks on the site - again link it in via some kind of affiliate rev share.

Just some initial thoughts - will post more if it comes to me.

Regards
Bob

Another point;

6. I think you should rewrite your URLs to something more friendly i.e instead of /profile.aspx?=161 it should be /profiles/bob-sheth/161/. I think in .Net you use something called ISAPI rewrite to do this.

More if it comes. Later.
Bob

I may be able to help you. I am currently building mini niche sites that has a total of 4 income streams from each site's theme. You can email me back for more info if you want because I currently cannot add any urls here. I'm still new here.

You can do so much SEO on that site yet. As some others already said, you don't need a mentor just keep on learning SEO and implement it...

Here's a quick list of things you should put a good amount of work into.

1. URL's - rewrite them as others said

2. Title's - get specific! Currently they're just dynamic but you want to catch longtail searches. So for example for this listing: http://www.driverchange.com/UsedCarD....aspx?Id=81637 the title should be "User car: 1996 Bentley Brooklands,NY Brooklyn - Cars for sale"

3. Remove meta-keywords they'll just end up harming you. Make your meta-description much more specific e.g. include specifications for cars, or else dump meta-descriptions since they can hurt you too.

4. Don't link you pictures directly. Put them on pages or create a nice little script that changes the big picture when clicking the small ones. And add an alt-text to your image which is specific to the listing. Image search can bring decent traffic to a site like your.

5. You don't link enough internally. On the pages for a specific car listing you should link to at least 10 - 15 related listings.

6. Build links from other sites. And make them point directly at specific categories. On a site as big as your all link popularity will "get lost" on the way to the actual listing pages.

7. Adjust the photo sizes server side. You're just changing the size with html with makes you website very slow for people. So make image files with the actually used sizes and compress them a bit more.

That was what I had time to come up with in 5 minutes, so just get to work. Learn more SEO and implement. Afterwards get back to forums and ask for advice again.

I'm sure your site can do very well.

Btw. consider that you site is almost brand new. You need to work a lot on building links - quality links from "trusted" sites. That will have a big impact and you rankings and traffic from especially Google.
