I began my subscription program with a price of $27/month. I got a few customers. Beautiful. Then sales dried up and I figured the price was wrong.

After a ton of searching, I learned from Shoemoney's blog post mentioning that he started at 29/year, went to 29/6 months and then tried 19.95/6 months to find that subscriptions started pouring in.

I'm currently charging $19.95/6 months for my diet program targeted to a very tight niche. However, I'm considering raising the price back to $27/month my development partners add a bunch of new features to our program that will really give it value - right now there isn't much value.

So my question to you is... what are you charging, and in very general terms, what is your product?

Did you see an increase in subscriptions with the lowered price?

Yes, I did but it could be due to my PR campaign as well. I'm figure I should stick to this price until the new features are rolled out late December, test for a while, and THEN I can test $27/mo again.

I have to say I LOVE $27/mo.

I will be watching this thread... We plan to add a "Supporting Member" option to our forum for added functionality and fewer ads, but we aren't ready to roll it out yet.

Got a couple more sales last night and today for a total of 14 in 2 weeks. My problem is that we don't really have any tools for users yet to help them get what they desire. Those come in Dec.

I like the way you organize the info on NBF, by the way.

I charge 25 on one site.
On another I charge 15 for one level, 25 for the other.
The rest I only charge 10.

It varies on the community esp. the size.

Subsciption is an integral part of Web2.0 sites, which can earn you big money. It all depends on the service or products you offer for $XX a month/year.
