Need ad placement and usage advice for my sites.

I have a bunch of CSS related sites that I could really use some help with. 3 of my sites implement the same basic design, and are closely related in topic (but they do all have different content).

These sites are:
www. CSS Box Model .com
www. CSS Padding .com
www. CSS Margin .com

These are really my first sites with ads on them. They were designed with the advice I got that two column sites are much more likely to get clicks (which I know isn't always the case obviously). Please give me any advice you can.

My other site I need help with is my CSS wiki site:
www. CSS Glossary .com

This site is a completly original work of my, all ad type and placement was thought of by me with no input - so I'm sure a lot is wrong and could use a lot of help.

Thanks a lot guys.

I think you're going to have hard time generating any revenue on a one-page site with such little content. How long have your sites been up? I'm not finding any ads related to your content.

First thing I'd do is blend the colors of your ads on the left bottom corner of the first and third sites you listed.

I'd also add more content so that you're not only giving Google more info to base the ads on but you give yourself more options for placement. As I see it, the only other place I'd put an ad would be somewhere below your box modelling image.

Thanks, that's exactly what I needed to hear. Unfortunetly with the Adsense news that came out, I guess I'm going to have to move that ad by my image

I'm going to add more content to all page today. I'll blend those ads also, for some reason I thought contrasting ads might stick out more.

Anyone have anymore advice?

According to the news I'm assuming you're referring to (from Adsense's blog?) you CAN have images by ads, you just have to make the effort to make sure no one will assume the ad is associated with the image. So you'll need to turn on the ad's border or change the background color, etc. so it'll stick out. Basically you're "unblending".

And regarding contrasting ads, it can go either way. Since you're starting out, I say give it a shot. I tried it on one of my sites for a few days and it didn't work out for me, that's why I'm a fan of matching colors Different strokes for different folks!

You have a clean site there

The only suggestion I have is to add in some relevant links (to external famous CSS sites) on the left of your site then followed by the Adsense ads. This will also increase the credibility of your site. Some readers may feel uneasy with a left column filled up with ads..
