Regarding Web Development related sites.

One thing I've always been curious about is, should I just by the very nature of the subject expect less advertising revenue? The way I see it is, anyone who winds up on a site related to web development has a higher knowledge of internet technology, so are they less inclined to click an ad? Because aren't most clicks on entertainment sites (arcades, social networking, etc.) almost accidental in that people don't fully realize what they are clicking is an ad?

I hope that made sense.

I usually click on an ads once every 6 months ..

To me, it doesnt matter what type of sites having ads on....people dont click regardless...

I have couple of adult content sites and i receive about 150 clicks on 950,000 impression...

Luckly for me and maybe for you too there is always CPM ads

My entertainment sites get lower clicks than my tech sites.

I guess it just depends on how relevant that ads are to a visitors interests.

As a "techie" myself, I never click on the ads on a technical site - ever!

Although my sites aren't designed to generate ad clicks, I always figured that the best CTR (all other things being equal) would come from users who knew enough about searching the internet to find your site, but not enough to be online-ad-blind (like many of us are).

I dont get many on my main technical/webdev sites, but when I do get clicks they tend to be fairly decent amounts of money.

As said, these users are big time web users and know what is and isn't an ad even if you have spent hours playing with fonts and colours to get the google ads to merge in
