What's the best way to monetize a dating site geared towards students? Im stuck paying a hefty bill every month for a dedicated server for a site that makes $0.

Most networks have offers from multiple dating sites. Just try them all until you find one that works. Without a link to your site I can't offer any other suggestions.

Why do you need a dedicated server? I have 13 sites on a virtual server with no problems. Do you have more then 1 site? How much traffic do you get (natural & paid)?

Take Care,

Michael

I would say offer an affiliate program, ad an advertising network, include ads related to college loans and student programs.
Offer a dating ebook download?
Also make the students pay for a premium service.
These are just some ideas If I could see the site, I could give you alot more ideas.

Mike,

There is no "best" way. How are you monetising at the moment? What
sort of numbers (traffic, signups, conversions etc) are you getting?

The "best" way depends on a lot of different things. The more you can
tell us about your site, the better the answers you'll get will be.

You can never go wrong with adsense (well, almost never).

It might not pay much, but at least it would be better than $0.

I agree. Put a bunch of adsense ads everywhere. Do like the guy over at plentyoffish.com

Best of luck.

I would say it would depend on how much traffic you are getting though... If you are on a dedicated box, I am assuming you are getting a nice amount?

adsense all the way, but you could also (if you get loads of traffic) post the fact that you sell advertising on your site....then go and test what people respond to.

I would definitely use geo-targeted Adsense ads.

If your site makes $0 then its not a good idea to go with AdSense because you have no traffic. Start out with affiliate programs. My favorite is Eroticy dating they pay per email.
$1 - free male trial
$2 - freecouple trial
$3 - free female trial

Payment is 2 times a month and they will send through paypal or check. Great company been using them for 2 years.
