Does anyone use ezines to get traffic? If you do what are your experiences with them?

I've never used them to get traffic before.

I have tried a few ezines for advertising and had mixed results.

Maybe some more testing will give me better results. But I was not very happy with my results thou.

I worked out a joint venture when I published a new eZine a
while ago. I had 10 partners place their ad inside my mag, and
in return they would promote to their lists.

Combined, they had almost 50K people.. which resulted in
roughly 200-300 downloads. I put it down to either sloppy
promotion on their part (my fault really, since there's no real
incentive for them).

As such, nobody got any decent traffic from the ezine. BUT,
if you can get involved with a regular ezine that has an already
established user base, the potential is good... assuming that the
ezine isn't already over-advertising-stuffed.

i did exceptional good with one ezine and really bad on the other one.

I guess it depends on your target market, your ad copy, your offer and a variable of a few other things.

in the end I wont be doing this again i didn't feel like it was worth it.

but if you have a different market then you probably should give it a shot.

test, test, test.....then work out if it was worth the investment.

good luck
