This is copy pasted from my blog, but since I don't get much visitors I thought I'd post it here so people can still read it. www.imsergio.com

AuctionAds is basically an eBay affiliate program, but it does a lot of the hard work for you.

They’re my new favorite network, here’s why you should use it.

1. $10 payout. If you try it and don’t like it, at least you can wait till you hit $10 and get paid.

2. Snowball effect. When a user clicks an ad, there’s a cookie that expires in 30 days. If in 30 days the user wins a bid, you get commission. They can win any bid, it doesn’t have to be the one they clicked.

3. High CTR. Everyone knows the trick of putting relevant images next to ads which increases your CTR significantly. Well that’s not allowed, but AuctionAds technically does that automatically because the ads are displayed with a thumbnail of the product.

4. Relevancy. eBay is kind of like Google, it has everything. If your site is about doorknobs then the ads will be about doorknobs. *checks* Yes, there is doorknobs on eBay.

5. I lied, there’s only 4 reasons. Feel free to add your own.

The following is copy pasted from another forum but it will help you understand how earnings are calculated, take note they are just estimates.

1000 impressions * 10% CTR = 100 possible bidders
100 possible bidders * 50% BTR = 50 bidders
50 bidders * 10% AWR = 5 wins with commission

Now, how commission is figured is interesting. You get commissions on eBay’s revenue, which are the fees eBay earns on a winning auction. These are Insertion Fees and Final Value Fees. You can see how these add up here:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/fees.html

Your commission is a percentage of these fees, from 40 to 65% based on sales volume. AuctionAds is consolidated under one account, so I’d expect them to hit 57.5 to 60%.

So here’s an example commission:

Winning bid: $39.93
Insertion fee: $.40 (based on the start price of $1.00)
Final Value Fee: $25.00 * 5.25% + $14.93 * 3.25% = $1.31 + $.49 = $1.80
Total fees: $.40 + $1.80 = $2.20
Commission: $2.20 * 60% = $1.32

So, with this auction & the numbers above, 100 clicks COULD earn you 5 * $1.32 = $6.60.

You basically don’t need a lot of traffic to earn more money. Results may vary depending on your audience. If they’re too young then they probably won’t be shopping online as much as older teenagers or adults. It also depends on your keywords, tweak them until you are happy with the results. I’m not joking about the keywords thing, play with them or you won’t earn anything! One last thing, you might not see results immediately because obviously not all auctions end in one day.

I hope that helped you understand AuctionAds a little better, and I hope even more that you start making some money.

i've been using it for about 10 days. i'm still hoping for better results since i am aware of the 30 day cookie. ctr for me is just under 1% so that is hardly anything to scream about. and i've made exactly $2.30 in 10 days. i'm leaving it up in hopes of better results long term. btw, i wish they'd put something in their ad that actually says "ebay". everyone knows ebay. to a casual surfer, "auction ads" means nothing though.

Mike, you might want to email them to suggest that. They're still a new network and I'm sure people's opinions count a lot. I already emailed them suggesting being able to save color palletes.

And thanks Moelman.

Anyone know what % of people win a bid in their first 30 days?
I don't but I thought it'd be interesting to know, and would give a good idea if this would be a lucrative investment of time or not

I just added AuctionAds to a few of my sites as well. Its only been 2 days. I have 182 clicks and a 0.80% CTR, and $0 revenue. I will give it at least 30 days before deciding if I want to stay or not.

AuctionAds is great. I recommend them for now. I'm making about $30/day from one of my forums. A great increase from $7/day I was making before AuctionAds. I have one ad running at the footer of my forums and that's what it's pulling a day. I'm happy to say that the way I got it that high was playing with keywords. I have only one keyword and it seems to be constantly converting.

One thing though with AuctionAds, they've been having some issues with eBay and their tracking system. So, if you're not seeing any results it could be because of the current glitch. AuctionAds has stated that they will be refunding credits as soon as they get the glitch worked out.

Other than that, great ad service, converts well, and you earn a good amount if you get the ads just right.

Revenue started showing up in my account today. I believe the problem with the stats is on Ebay's end and affects everyone.. not just auction ads... I've received numerous emails from Ebay on that issue.

After I have a bit more of time to look back upon I'll post some stats... but I did want to post an update and say that I have at least seen SOME revenue now.

Some quick stats I just looked at...I'm getting about 100K impressions/day on my larger forums with about 500-600 clicks/day in the footer. I'm making around $30/day if that helps anybody's curiosity.

I wanted to post an update to my AuctionAds stats so everyone could get a "big" picture about how it is doing. At this point I'm very satisfied with it...

Code:
Total 1225018 9988 0.82 $394.69
What you see is impressions/clicks/CTR/revenue.

Hope this helps someone make a decision on wether or not to waste the time with it... but I would recommend it after using it for a month or so.

About the same percentages as me. Except my total numbers are way lower due to traffic nowhere near yours. As with EVERYTHING, it's all about traffic...I'll keep on trying.

Me:
Impressions: 93,660
Clicks: 639
CTR: 0.68
Revenue: 3.15

:-(

You probably will not notice any revenue for another week or so, it does take time to show up. I would suggest giving it an honest 30 day evaluation like me and you should see some revenue. You have a good CTR tho!
