I'd like to get some information on how much everyone is making per click (on average) with Auction Ads. Mine is ridiculously low and I just wanted to see if others are fairing any better.

Right now my stats for June or pathetic:
Code:
Total 59627	1279	2.15	$36.84
That works out to right at .03 a click. That's an unacceptable conversion rate.

What is everyone else seeing?

Do you find that acceptable for your site? (Honestly asking, 1000 clicks a day for only .05 a click isn't very well monetized.)

You would think there would be many other ways to monetize that traffic better.

mine is at about 16 cents per click for my best performing site. It's not great, but for me it is simply a bonus because I am placing this in addition to my adsense ads and I haven't dropped a bit in adsense CTR or overall earnings.

my best location is a 336 under the navbar of my forum, just to the right of a 336 adsense ad. cpc there is .23 cents, but more importantly, the cpm is 2.50, and I am still getting a high CTR on the adsense ad.

In addition, I even show it below threads to guests and members, and the members like it, and have actually purchased from it.

Keep in mind... You cant really look at per click in the short term. Auctions take up to 10 days to close. If a few high ticket auctions sell in a month, it will blow the per click rate out of the water.

But I will say this - the vB rewrite is doing much better for me then the ads are. About 3 times better.

Bama,

It's not my only stream of revenue. But yes...it is working better than adsense was on my forums.

Well you have to look at something to compare it. Doesn't matter that it "may" convert if it never ends up doing so.

The url rewrites make up half of the income so far on my site.

I know Bama - I'm just saying, you ahve to give it more time. People are often associating this with Adsense, when it's really set up totally different. With this, you dont really know what you made 'today' from todays clicks, because most of them wont convert for several days. Plus, keep in mind, this is new and evolving. It's going to take some time to really figure out optimal implementation, especially on a forum.

I would give it a good 4-6 weeks Bama - then look at things. It may be that you only keep the rewrite - thats going to depend on the particular topic of the site.

Thing is AA has been around for months and I've yet to see anyone raving about how it's a great revenue stream.

All I read are excuses for it NOT converting well. And how you have to view it as a small filler type ad. Doesn't give me much hope for ever making it a top tier ad and really giving it a good position in your ad invetory chain. Where are the arguments for that??

I've put it on sites that really should have done well on like menstech.com and my not so high traffic but well focused niche site agnosticforums. It did poorly there too.... If anything I would expect it to do well on product blogs and forums. But it has yet to prove itself even there.

I mean most people you talk to that know Jeremy or know of him like him and think he's a cool guy and all. But it may be time to start admitting that this just isn't a very good idea after all. Even the best sounding ideas don't always work out like you plan ya know?

Me and my friend tried using auction ads today but everytime we posted our ad on Craiglist they all got flagged. Not sure why?

Auctions Ads are doing well for me. Not my #1 income source, but at the same time I haven't positioned their ads to even try to make them my #1 source.

For me, the bottom line is that the members of one of my forums love having the ads showing because the items are directly related to things they constantly look for on Ebay.

I think if I worked at it, and repositioned all my ads, I could easily make this my top income source

The numbers are actually coming up for me in the past week or two, as I expected they would.

I'm very happy with the figures so far... this is "this month's" figures.. so you can basically lop off the last 2 or 3 days as they are not usually included in the up to the minute stats:

Code:
Total 3278440 37754	1.15	$3,259.82
If you figure that is about 17 (at best) days of revenue, your looking at $191.75/day and about 8 to 9 cents per click (9 if you round up).

AA are a joke IMO. I stopped serving them.

Total 25662	323	1.26	$22.15
you're making shoemoney more money.

You are getting paid about 7 cents per click right there, and every once in a while a big ticket item gets purchased and you'll make a good chunk of change.

If you look at your stats like an eCPM payout, your making $.86 eCPM which is not bad at all... especially for targeted ads that your users might actually be interested in, as opposed to netflix, blockbuster and other CPM based ads.

Just my 2c. I don't gain anything by you using AA, but I have been happy with them.

.86 ecpm is a joke as is 7 cents a click.

IMO, anything under $4 ecpm and/or 20 cents a click is a waste of my banner space.
