Shoemoney's Auction Ads' Reliablity & Customer Relations Horrible

I expected a lot more from Auction Ads when I found out Shoemoney was behind it. I expected excellent customer service and a good reliable service. While I understand growing pains and that things are bound to go wrong, Auction Ads has constantly frustrated their publishers with frequent downtime and horrible customer relations. There has been absolutely no public comment on the constant downtime and untargeted ads. You can get away with it if it only happens every now and then but it happens constantly.

Anyone else has frustrated with AuctionAds? It may pay out decent but I hate using advertising on my site that goes in and out. It'd be nice if they stopped being so secretive about the problems they are having and give us some kind of idea what is causing it and what they are doing to fix it.

I've heard similar complains about bad customer service provided by Auction Ads from pretty well-looked upon webmasters as well. So I don't think you are the only one crabby about it. I haven't had any problem really, so I'll stay out of it personally.

I haven't had to deal with support but from what I hear its awful. You're definitely not the only one and I agree that they need to address this issue.

I've never been in need of support so guess that's good, at least they pay very fast and on time every month.

The best thing they could do is have a blog or a forum especially for it so they can keep affiliates up to date with whats going on and then they will not have so many emails to get through.

The blog entry rarely contains mentions of the numerous bouts of downtime they have. I'm with BamaStangGuy.. I've never needed support, but I have contacted support and asked them about the downtime, ETA to repair, causes, whats going to be done to keep it from happening in the future and I've never gotten a response.

We are doing over $5000/month through these guys so I would think we were a decent sized partner... still no response.

While I enjoy shoemoney's blog, I don't get why people automatically assume that something he puts out will be high-quality.

Well because of the reputation he has. If I was respected as he was I sure as hell wouldn't want a major company I own piss people off.

Right but I suppose I'm more wondering where this reputation came from? I mean I know he's got a photo of a hefty adsense check and wrote that article about how he made money with ringtones... but is that it? I'll admit I've only been reading his blog for about a year so maybe I missed something.

They probably get too many emails and ignore what they think isn't important. I emailed them the second day they opened up and got a response right away. They didn't have much people back then though.

I don't know why they think their site never being up and their ads not targeting right isn't important.

I talked with Jeremy for a good while about Auction Ads while at Affiliate Summit and I can say that they are working on fixing these issues. I also do a decent amount of revenue with them ($x,xxx monthly) and I expressed my concerns (also your concerns). He was very honest and open, hopeful for positive changes to come soon.

Lee,

Cool... I would guess you have more pull with him then most of us. I do see they have a blog post about it today on the site which specifically addresses the complaints about this thread and mentions that forums are not an official avenue for support.

Thats cool, I understand that. Like most in this thread have said, we have used the official medium for support (email) and still received no response.

Oh well... hopefully things silently get better and this becomes a moot point.

I contacted them a while back in regards to untargeted ads, and ads not showing up at times. I was told back then that they are dealing with some bugs, and also learned that the program was growing at a much higher rate of speed than expected, creating further problems.

For me, that was good enough. They are having some problems, and they are working on them. I could demand to know what the exact problems are, and exactly what is being done to correct it, but in the end, I probably wouldn't completely understand it, and it wouldn't speed up the issue of getting things fixed.

If, several months down the road, the issues are not getting any better, then I will have a problem. But for now, I am just happy to have a place providing money making ads that I can put in low producing areas of my sites for increased income, and a nice income at that.

I emailed support 3 times to ask why their graphs were not working and no clicks were registering and never got a peep back so I removed them.

Terrible service.

Hopefully we will see a tremendous improvement. Especially in the stability of custom codes such as minprice and maxprice, which are very flaky for me.
