I recently purchased a site that has a main page and a link to a forum in a sub directory.

The forum is small and I haven't had a lot of ad clicks in the forum. However, the main page is getting around 15% CTR on the ads.

I think it gets that because the domain and subject are very targeted. So, what should I do to increase even more revenue by capitalizing on that? I've thought about adding a blog about the subject, but would you add it at the main level or as a sub directory? This site is built around a product/service so I could tie into auctionads or something like that as well.

Any tips or direction is appreciated.

You could probably try to use the Amazon Associates associates program as well to generate some dough since it's product related.

Hm... if its a specific website, maybe try to find affiliate program for it. You get much more from that than from general programs like Amazon or AdSense imho.

Its hard to know without a general idea or specific information about the niche. Can you tell more?

Adding a blog as a sub-directory should be fine, and is a good way to generate pages with quality content about the product and bring in more traffic.

As for better ways to monetize, need more information on the niche.
