What is the most secure or "tried and true" way to receive payment for a sale in the $xx,xxx range? Is escrow the only right choice or does anyone use wire transfer, and what are some precautions to take?

Wire transfer is safest in my opinion, since there is a bank involved, u dont have to mail anything like checks, and u can securely do that internationally as well.

ye, when i sell anything over £1000 i tend to use wire transfer.

if anything goes wrong, blame your bank

I would use escrow.com. I feel that is ultimately the safest way to do a large transaction aside from using attorney's and an offline escrow firm.

I would think wire transfer is also the safest way and it's also fast.
