I posted this on one of my blogs this morning. I recently did a survey (yes these are powerful) and found out that a lot of my clients wanted to know how to create a successful business quickly.
It might be a bit of a read but I will give you the meat ok.
The Secrets TO Creating A Six Figure Business!
#1 - GET OFF YOUR AHEM...GET FOCUSED!
You will find most good marketers are focused. Don't try to do it all in one go....Stick to one project and keep doing that, doing too many things at once or getting half way through a project and think of some other brilliant idea that you think will revolutionize the IM you're getting sidetracked. It's not being focused.
Trying to do too many things at once and you get overloaded, and you end up not getting anything finished at all. Ever found yourself drowning in a sea of unrelated projects?.....hmmmm It's probably why your not making money.
Your inbox might start flooding up with these fantastic offers and opportunities. And it could be why you are losing focus. Plus remember in doing this your are not really building a real business.
Don't try to focus on building a money making monster. Focus on creating one real business. Once you have that up and running and its successful. Work out what you did well and rinse and repeat in another niche. FOCUS FOCUS FOCUS, use any means possible to stay focused.
Don't just be content with a good front end. Have strong back end products, or cross selling products that ensure you make more sales and so do your clients.
You will find that one affiliate program you sell on the backend does well. You will find that one email responder series gets more sales than another. Focus and testing is where you can quadruple your profits.
#2 - CREATE A KILLER SET OF GOALS!
I know you probably heard it a thousand times before. I don't wanna cram it down your throat anymore but there are extreme benefits of having a set of goals for you and your business. The sooner you do this the better, in fact as soon as you finish reading this you should get to work.
So, let’s get right into HOW to create your goals…
But the 3 most important things about setting killer goals is :-
1. Make your goals specific.
2. Make your goals measurable.
3. Give your goals a deadline.
Give yourself money goals, It has been scientifically proven that goals can be reached if you set them, believe you can reach them, and then get off your butt and put in the hard yards. If money is your goal then set smaller targets first, then once you have reached them, set bigger ones.
Give Your Goals A Deadline. This is important too. Every goal you make for yourself or for your company must have a deadline.
Sometimes the whole goal setting topic can be confrontational because of the four letter word.....
Because we are all L-A-Z-Y.
At least most of us are. If you don’t create a deadline for our goal, you kill your chances reaching out and achieving it!
But really the key here is once you have set your goals don't chuck them in your bottom draw and forget about them COMMIT yourself to getting there. Strive for success and soon enough you will see changes magically occur in your business.
If you have a pure fear of failure, thats great, most of us have it instilled in our psychological makeup. But hey! If you fail, you fail. You gave it a real go. Or Heck why now find out what you did wrong and work out how to fix it.
Make sure that if your setting goals and they are achieved you , reward yourself.
Lets say your monthly target for this month is $10,000 and you make 11k then make sure you get that big monitor, or graphics card you have always wanted.
Laugh if you want, but I’m TELLING you… it works!
#3 - TAKE ACTION - YESTERDAY!
yes! everyone always says I will do it tomorrow, but we all know TOMORROW NEVER COMES! Does it?
Does this sound familiar, you get up, stick some cornflakes down your gob, check emails, hop on cnn.com and check the latest news, check your clickbank account, phone rings, get on the warrior forum, see whats happening READ...READ...make some lunch and before long your whole day is gone. It 4 o'clock AHHHH! Nothing done today.
This means You’re avoiding taking action. And if you want to make any money at all taking action is where you can make the most money.
The reason these days people give out all there best secrets is they know at most 2% of people reading it are going to get of their bum and use it.
Real money is only made when action is taken to implement processes to exploit those ideas! The most successful people on this planet are constant action takers and go getters. Become one of these and get ready for the money to start rolling in.
This yields measurable results. SO if you fail, its not give up time - Its' "ok what did I do wrong and how can i fix it?" Thats what measurable results are. The more times you stuff it up, the more times you know that you don't want to do that one thing again. We always learn from out previous mistakes.
Your probably thinking now, but the more times I try the more times I fail. I don't care. It happened to me when I first started in IM. But I kept at it, and one day I woke up and just got it. EVERYTHING CLICKED! now it is just a matter of honing those skills.
Bottom line… always take action on your ideas no matter how silly you might think they are. You could have the next best thing...or have a trick up your sleeve to triple your sales in 10 minutes....or something like that...you get the picture.
Don’t be afraid to fail miserably. I can tell you that it is going to happen along the way, regardless of how much a genius you think you are. Think of Edison and that **** light bulb, a gazillion stuff ups and only one breakthrough...but now human kind has electricity, was it worth it....YOU BETCHA!!
#4 - OUTSOURCE YOUR BALLAST WORK!
Since outsourcing my work I have been getting so much work done. Now I can work on my business instead of in my business.
You too need to outsource everything you possibly can. And it kills
me that a large majority of the online entrepreneurs don't outsource.
It is hard because you sometimes don't like to give up control, but its always better to be the general of the army rather than the soldiers in the trenches doing the dirty work...if you know what i mean.
Will outsourcing cost you money.....YES! sometimes a considerable amount. But remember you are spending money to make money, its one of the most important parts of business.
The more tasks that you can outsource the more money you can make longer term. Don't be that soldier in the trenches. Be the general and command others to do the work you hate. It will free up your time to do other important tasks.
Normally if you are not the most computer literate person you are better off anyway.
#5 - CONSTANT TRACKING OF ROI!
This is not the normal ROI that is talked about....i.e. You give me 100 dollars, and I give you back $150. Congrats you just made 50% back on your initial investment.
What we are talking about is the whole finite investment. That is :-
1. your time
2. your effort
3. your money
That is the correct way to work out the average ROI.
That’s going to take some work. You can no longer simply look at a couple of numbers and judge how good an investment it is.
When it comes to the actions you take to build your online business and income, you must look at ROI differently. And I’m going to tell you how to look at it.
First, understand this key point…
Everything you do during the day has a ROI.
You just spent 5 hours creating a free special report. That will bring in either optins, emails, sales, etc.
Or another example is spending 5 minutes just changing your website headline will effect your bottom line sales. You just put time and effort into your business and it bought you back a ROI.
Now, things might get a little hazy now but stick with me ok?
you need to find out what brings in a good ROI or bad ROI. Every time you work on a project you will have to decide if putting in hours of work into one minor role was worth bringing in a little bit of money. Thats the easy way to work out which tasks you could outsource.
In a recent project I did, it was a free Report (the Report took 3 hours creating) but it bought in 39 sales ($19 ebook). The numbers are easy enough to figure out. My 3 hours of work bought in $624. Now you don't have to be a rocket scientist to work out that is a pretty good ROI right.
But, let’s say you created the same special report to get opt-ins.
This Special Report to entice people to opt-in to a mini-course. So Let’s assume 8,000 people read this report but only 1,000 decided to take it further and optin. You didnt make one lousy dollar, but you do have opt-in ready to sell to later down the track.
Now you have to work out if all that hard work was worth it. again it is totally up to you. Lets say you created the report with the intentions of getting 5,000 people to opt in, well then it really wasn't worth it.
The moral here is that you should be spending time on activities that bring in a higher rate of return. That will stop you waisting time on things that don't bring in money. I constantly hear that voice in my head that says, "TIME IS MONEY!" and nothing can be further from the truth.
The bottom line here is I realize that we both have limited time and resources at our feet. Life is short, and each and every business day gets away from us quickly. If you are not making proper use of your time, then you won't be making the money you could be making.
We must constantly push those finite resources in pursuit of the highest possible ROI.
THATS IT! NOW GET BACK TO WORK!
Cheers
