Monetize arcade website?
|
Posts: 141

Hello,
My arcade, play games online is having about 3k uniuques/day with 6k+ pageloads.
My earnings however are very bad. With adsense, I'm earning 2-4$/day.
I've tryed VCM too. I've seen people earn with arcades 1$eCPM, but I don't, I get only free ads loading on my site(what's the secret here? should i remove some ads and wich ones? my ctr is high :\ )
Casale media didn't accept me.
What options do I have guys?
I've seen arcades make 8$+ with this kind of traffic, but not me?
Any tips?
Thanks alot!

The only thing I see is that, if it fits, I would replace those two 468x60 banners that go below and above the games with leaderboard ads.
468x60 banners don't convert well and you have three

Well there isn't enough to replace them by 728*90 banners.
I will keep that in mind though, for the next version on wich I'm working.
Any other tips? Maybe some programs that pay good even for arcades?

How many clicks do you get? If you get 200+ and can find an affiliate program whose ads get a similar CTR, you should easily make a sale each day, perhaps more. That's potentially A LOT more than $8/day.

If you have a high CTR then you are definitely doing something very wrong here even when using Adsense that doesn't do that well on earnings per click on Arcade type sites. If you are getting alot of PSA's being shown then put a default ad in place. It is simple to do and will earn you more.

Have you tried CPA? I saw a couple of game offers with Copeac.

CPA will work but make sure you get the right one, there is a difference between something that will make $15 a day and $300 bucks a day, if your getting ok traffic which your are, then you need to do some testing.
and make sure you frequent the azoogle forum those guys can help you get you hot, ads.

It's also best to try a few networks as some have similar to the same offers and pay different amounts. Also some will have different offers than the others and they may be better for your site compared to the one that you may currently use or would currently be using if you just chose one network.
There are many good ones on the web. Good luck.

run comparison shopping ads for products your users will need. computer upgrades, video gaming accesories, consoles, etc. And put them someplace that's easily visible.

4$/day? Thatīs very bad.
I actually have an arcade site with 2k UIP and daily revenue cca 30$. I use only graphic ad + only text ad together, and good tip is to use image beside the ad (but be careful with TOS - image must be different from the ad subject).
Next tip is to use "preloader" with adsense. I saw it on many arcade sites.

First I would filter out and made for adsense (MFA) sites that will give you 1-2 cents per click in the hopes that your visitors will go to their sites and click on something worth more. Just add those sites to your competitive ad filter.

Hey guys, sorry for late reply, I have been away.
I am trying VCM again with different options, I'm think that if I manage to have 0.40$cpm * 4 ads * 8k pageviews, I can triple my revenue, though I woud be happy if I even reach the 10$/day.
My ctr isn't great, I have about 50 clicks/day, but I will give cpa ads a try anyway, but first I'l give VCM a 2nd chance and also rightmedia.
Also, yesterday, I added a MFA list to my adsense account, hoping that will help.
I'm also giving zangocash a try, and igfishgames or something, for game downloads.
Thanks for all the replies!

What do you mean by preloader with adsense? Is it some sort of ad that they offer or is it some sort of feature that they offer? Not quite sure what you mean.

Well, with "preloader" I mean adsense ad that will disappear after few seconds, and will be replaced with the flash game.

Strange. Do they offer that service now then as I have never heard of it. Why only a few seconds? It will take probably 10 seconds to read it and then another 1 to click it.
I'm interested in monetizing my new arcade, which is why I want to know this stuff.

In place, where a flash game is, is also a graphic adsense ad. The ad is shown first (for a few seconds) and then replaced by the flash game. The replacement is done via javascript + css, itīs just about css visibility. This method has high click rate (could be > 10%).
I saw it on many download sites and arcade sites.

Yes, I even think my script has this built in. Not 100% sure, ut I know I have seen scripts that have this.
I've also seen that ads under a game in a popup have high ctr (and also ctr is 3$+) I think I will combine these to, to see how it works out.
Thanks for all suggestions!

Wouldn't that be against Adsense TOS to show the adsense ad for a few seconds as some of the ads are likely to be paying CPM rates.
Has anyone tried just using the CPC banner ads in VCM. I have had 9 clicks this month so far on my new gaming site. It's worked out that I have averaged around $0.013 per click, which is pennies. If I just used the CPC ads and still had 9 clicks then I could have received a minimum of $0.15 per click earning me a larger CPM.
$0.013 per click is to low and my traffic is worth more than that.

CPC ads pay very good at VCM, but CTR is too low.

I used to run an arcade site and I placed a 468 in the game window. It had high CTR because people just want to click around when they're playing a game.
