I apologize if this thread isn't appropriate for this forum but I didn't really know where to put it. Anyways onto the point;
Something I have seen on many sites across the media spectrum from design to domaining always seem to have progression journals - they have been valuable for my progression in many areas because I was able to avoid some of the basic mistakes which others have made.
So I decided to start this little number - Basically I have made a decision to put all of my efforts into Developing sites for myself (I'm a web designer by trade) and trying to create growth and monetization through SEO and Internet marketing.
I will be updating this post weekly so hopefully people can give me both advice and take advice from the steps I take and the mistakes I make.

Project 1: Travel network
Something which I have always been interested in is traveling the world and finding out as much as I can about different cultures and ways of life. I have built up a decent amount of air-miles over the years and hope this could prove beneficial in the development of my travel network. So where do I start guys?
It was my view that your best starting where you know most about; thats where my first site comes into play(I live here):
Ireland Travel & Tourism guide & tips My first few steps were easy enough to take; heres a simple outline.
1.Choose first site name and purpose (Guides and information on traveling to Ireland)
2.Design suitable site (I tried to make the site as simple as possible at first, and concentrate on content
3.Sign up to Google Analytics
4.Sign up to Google Adsense
5.Sign up to Google Adwords
As you can see I'm choosing the adsense route for this site
Okay, so how do I start about getting traffic to my site? After talking to Rex (Moderator here) for a bit and looking around the forums for a few hours – I took notice to his SUUCK method. So lets say this site has a SUUCK marketing plan :P
You can visit the site as more updates come and hopefully will see an increase in visitors and earnings. (Don't forget content)
I will be posting Analytics statistics, Adsense earnings and the methods I used to achieve these periodically; hopefully you guys can give some guidance and at least take something from this thread.

I have now been listed on google; by simply using the QUIT (Quick Indexing tool) found at

Another small update, I have managed to get into the top 20 in google for "Ireland-Trips" (This is hopefully a good sign)
