If it is just an articles site then I would prefer to do one site. But if it's a site with articles and also you can play games on it, then I would split the articles into one site and the games on another domain/site.
I agree with John, I wouldn't have multiple sites of the same type unless you think you can get great traffic to both. But I wouldn't try to combine different types of sites in to one, its better to have those separate. Its better for a site to focus on its niche than try to do everything.
with it being tools and articles it may be best to be on one site.. but it depends on how niche you are trying to go and what exactly you are talking...

The domain I have is a general one, not tied to any niche. I'm not sure exactly what route I want to go.
I am thinking SEO/SEM with affiliate offers to start. The site would have some wide ranging articles and be set up kind of like a directory.
For now I just want to try a few things and see which ones I like and work well for me.
Hi all,
Im new here. What do you guys mean by tools? I know what articles are
Thanks
Al
By tools I mean some kind of online utility, for example one that tracks search engine rankings, suggests domain names or some other useful web based utility.
I would prefer having one site with all the helpful info and tools and focusing your SEO and promotional efforts in marketing it
Yea i agree... spreading this out over multiple sites doesn't make sense unless you will be sellign individual products and even then it may not make sense
