Hey Guys,

I came across this site a few days ago and have been reading as much as I can. This is for sure one of the best resources on the net for online marketing info. With that in mind, I have some questions about how to monetize my site.

I've had my website for about 2 years now. The website url is setxsports.com (Southeast Texas Sports). We cover mainly High School Sports in Southeast Texas and if you are from Texas you know how big HS Sports are here. My traffic is growing daily and now averaging about 2.5 million pageviews and 80-100,000 unique visitors a month. Im still fairly new to all of this, but I feel that its time for me to attempt to make some money off of this. We are a forum based web site, so whatever method of advertising I use must accept that.

Please offer suggestions or ways that I can monetize my site. Specifically what campaign types or affiliates. From what I've seen, it looks like CPM is the best method, but then again I'm still new at all this. I did have google ads on the site early in its existence, but it was shutdown do to fraudulent clicks by some of my users.

Any help would be appreciated!

I bet you are getting a good bit of teens/young adults I would try ringtones, try even sports related ticket sales... as people are sports people they probably go to pro and college games why not buy the tickets thru your site. Also try sports related gear hats jerseys etc..

Running some In-Line contextual ads works really well in forums and takes up no room. Try Thundertext.com (full disclosure - I work for Thundertext)

Nice traffic! You could opt for PPC as a publisher and make big $$$ especially if majority of your traffic are targeted

If you are from America then I would suggest going with YPN (Yahoo Publisher Network) to see how you go. Their anti-fraud system is a much more "site owner" friendly one than Googles. I.E. You dont have to go running to them begging for mercy because you just accidently clicked one of your ads while testing your site.

If you are from outside the U.S I doubt YPN would approve your application though...

MaxBounty (and others) have an offer for a sports social network. You should try that out.
