I thought that I got me a really good domain name - itsreviewed.com -Lately, I have been using it as a general review blog, where I focus on just about anything that I can find that I feel like writing about. So far, I have only made a few dollars here and there from AdSense with this site. I dont think that I am fully exposing the potential of this domain name because I am not targeting a specific market.

Does anyone have any recommendations? If you were me, and you had a domain name like this, what would you do with it?

Please keep in mind, I am a full time student who just got out of the military, so I do not have a lot of money to invest in something major; however, I don't have to worry about the cost of getting the site developed. I have a good amount of experience with web design and stuff like that, so that is a major hit on the pockets that I can avoid.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Change your design. Brand it better.

It looks like you've covered a lot of bases with good content, a nice domain etc. But you're not taking advantage of that. In today's visual internet you need to be memorable.

I know why you are using that blog template. I used it for the same reason. But in the end it hurts you because you have no logo, no presence.

You say you're good at design so with the TONS of truly professional FREE blog templates out there for wordpress there is really no excuse not to have a stunning design on that site.

There are people giving designs away for free that I'd pay $x,xxx for exclusively.

P.S it seems you are falling into that trap of centering your content around spammy high paying subjects. Get away from that and really review products and services. You'll find vendors HAPPY to give you a free sample or trial for a review if you have the traffic.

Thanks a lot George. Do you think I should continue to keep it as a general review site, or should I narrow it down to a specific market? I know that having a general review site can be very beneficial in the long run (if I can get the needed traffic of course), but should I just start small and build up?

Yeah I don't think your visitors would lynch you if you started off with a niche you yourself are comfortable writing about then slowly expanded until you have a general review site.

I think in this day and age you're dead meat if you don't have a niche, and I think it should be as specific as possible.

General reviews - Insane
Digital camera reviews - Better, but over saturated
DSLR Reviews - Still too broad
DSLR Lens reviews - getting better
Budget DSLR Lens reviews - now you're talkin

If you would like some practical advice then follow on....

You are using WordPress for your blog if im not mistaken so you need to take advantage of the "Post Slug" feature in your posts. Currently it looks like your post titles are being used for the URL rewrite function.

You can optimize the URL rewrite feature by typing a line into the Post Slug section of your posting page that will better serve your SEO efforts. Just remember to use underscores for spacing the words as you cant have spaces in a URL

Niches seem to be the key, but are there some resources for finding them?
