One way that might help you out is to construct a profile of your visitor.
You might like to do a survey and offer a prize (like an iPod Touch, or a $50/$100 blockbuster credit or something similar)
if you have an idea of your audience profile, eg: male:female split, geo-location, interests, hobbies, etc, you can promote related offers which are likely to convert better.
I tend to go for CPA and affiliate offers with higher payouts ($10 upwards, but $30 seems to be the sweet spot for me).
You can only convert this well if you know your audience.
Eg. if your guys are mostly male and in their 20s and 30s, the ebay bizop offer could convert pretty well.
if it's mostly females, then the dating/social networking offers should do well.
Pepperjam is managing the affiliate program for J.Lo and Beyonce's fashion lines and I think those would convert well in the music/movie niche too.

One other thing is that you can also email broadcast a mini-newsletter or create a sub-forum with member exclusives in there about once or twice a month, you'd be surprised how a single promotion can generate a five digit aff commission if you have sufficient membership mass.
