Advertising for free could takes some time.Does anybody do offline marketing besides using free online marketing?
Business cards can be effective to use for offline marketing.
Does anybody use biz cards for a marketing tool?Your input appreciated.

I tried, but to be effective you have to hand them out at an event or hang out where your market hangs out.

Like everything else, they may fail big time or make you rich.

I tried handing out business cards... it works!I got about five call backs in one week.I must of pass out about 50 cards everyday for three hours.I also got ten sales that week and refferals!I got hot spots!I was in the college campuses,big shopping centers,and public social service building outside just talking to a lot of people.Invest one hundred dollars for five thousands cards full color front and back.I reccommend trying this technique.

Biz cards are very dependent on your niche and your goal, but VERY effective in local niches. I have a website geared towards my campus (so there are a LOT of ways to get the word out all over campus) and I paid some people to hand out little cards with my website and a sort of slogan and some copy on the back and I got a substantial boost in traffic and registrations that week.

I pretty much agree with the replies above. There are several factors including strategy, niche, etc. all of which are important on the impact 'free advertising' may have on your business. Having a graphic design and print company, I have had several clients who wanted their business card designed strictly to promote their online business. It appears to be working as we have received several re-orders.

It's important to have a strategy. If you are going to hand out business cards, do it in a place where people in your niche frequent. Don't have a regular boring business card - have something designed that stands out. One client of mine ordered a standard business card. Great design. He handed them out and returned for another order. I suggested he try out our rounded business cards. He did and later told me that he received more callbacks and overall business with the rounded cards compared to the regular standard cards. Simple things like standing out with a great business card can help.

Your actual delivery is also very important. Don't just hand them out but try to talk to the people, and genuinely try to establish a rapport with them. Networking is so important both online and offline. Whichever way you choose to convey your message with be the deciding factor in the way your business is affected by this advertising method.

Biz cards, flyers, all are the best way to go, and word of mouth.

I'm still using free online advertising to do stuff as well. That's how many of my sites work in fact..

Take a bag full of cards, your best wits, and a friendly demeanor. You'll be amazed at how well you do.
