Hello folks,

It’s long been known that there is no more powerful form of advertising than word of mouth. When people hear about a product or service or business from someone not paid to tell them about it, it means much more than anything you could possibly buy. But while word of mouth advertising is always happening, is it working for your company or against it? what are some things you can do to make sure word of mouth doesn’t wind up being your worst enemy.

I believe that having a good business protocol is key.

If you have a company, website, or any other venture, and your clients/users are not happy, then you first must fix the problem. Now, there are always a few people that are hard to please. Unfortunately, you're more likely to hear your friend tell you about the time X company treated him badly instead of X company being a great service. But if the majority of your users/clients are happy with your service, then you are going to be OK.

There is always the concept of "any press is good press." Perhaps Bob tells James that X company was not a good company. James might be curious and check out X company himself. He could end up liking the service from X company. You never know. Everyone's different.

I think providing excellent customer service is key. Make your clients/users happy. If you can do that, I believe that growth is inevitable.
