I guess it would depend on how well you market them. The niche will also be a factor. Both have relative potentials in making a good revenue. It's the quality of traffic that will be the deciding factor and conversion IMO

Niche is difinetly key however you have to find a balance because too niche leads to no one visiting your site and too broad leads to not getting your site noticed even through clever marketing O.o

blogs are easy and quick money, forums takes lot of effort and as you see many repeative visitors so not much money..

But forums are great in the sense if you are an affiliate or say pay per sale or lead.. ,because you have chance to show all who you are and built a trust in members ..so anything you say or sell they immediately buy.i personally do the same.

Whatever platform you use to reach your niche market really depends on what you want to do. It's not really so much on the platform used that determines the earnings, it's the one who's behind the scene that does all the work. Just choose whichever you think be more suitable for your business or tasks

In my opinion, it all depends on your niche.

There are so many factors when coming to forums but to generate a decent amount you have to have some serious traffic going to your forum.

Example: I had a TV based forum that turned out 900,000 page views monthly but only generated 500-800 monthly.
