Anybody using blackhat methods to make money online?
If so how much you're earning from them?
What do you think about blackhat techniques?
I'm not using illegal methods but using many methods which are dishonest(But legal..:devil2! I'm using this because of the loopholes available and I don't feel bad for using these techniques!
What about you?

hey blackhat. i use a variety of BH techniques. i make a pretty nice chnk of change from them. i think BH is misunderstood. BH is a different business model from WH. the results are not long term, but they are very effective. i use both BH and WH, and both are effective for me.

Don't do it unless you can afford it or you know what you are doing.

First in foremost, I believe in diversifying your income. As aforementioned, blackhat techniques are usually ephemeral, losing their effectiveness as the "loop hole" is either filled or saturated.

I used to be really interested in blackhat/quick-and-easy income. What happened though is that I had this big gap in my employment and I was telling people I was a web developer... and I had nothing to show for it (or nothing I wanted to show for it). People would ask me for examples of my web work. What was I going to show them, how I rigged a MFA scheme and essentially stole money from advertisers? Spammed aggregators with links?

Blackhat just isn't respected. It's a different animal than other web domain. I believe in getting some "whitehat" establishments up and "doing blackhat" on the side.

This is only for people who stick with only one technique! Since I know more techniques, I can shift to another!
Only if more people are using a technique then there is a chance for being caught! But I won't let my secrets for free! So, NP!:smarty:

Blackhat is a waste of time, in my opinion. It can also be high-risk.

The main thing is this: Use Whitehat, and maybe some grayhat, to build your business and you will build lasting income sources.

Use Blackhat if you can deal with being jerk and ripping people off. It won't last, but in the short term, if you are at the forefront of a good technique, you can walk away with a good bundle of cash.

Personally, I just won't touch BH marketing at all (although I use some automated systems that I am told utilize some certain BH techniques that are considered "stable", but I am not promoting anything unethical so I don't sweat that too much).

Blackhat is DEFINITELY not a waste of time. Sometimes it might be for people who don't know how to work it but I've made an extremely nice income from one bh tactic over the past year. And it has nothing to do with being a jerk.

And what is white hat or NOT being a jerk? These ridiculous offers that the affiliate networks sell? It's spam pure and simple. There is nothing honorable in putting a banner on a whitehat site that says, "Get your free iPhone!" And then the poor sucker puts his email in and n-e-v-e-r gets the iphone.

I did total white hat for 10 years and busted my butt to try and make a living.

Blackhat is too vague.... what is blackhat to one person is greyhat to another or even whitehat to some.

Some people think that using any system in a way that it was not intended (but that you benefit from) is blackhat. I don't agree -- I call that innovation. If you are breaking the law, yes that is bad. If you are ripping someone off, yes that is bad. But if someone designs a system to do one thing, and you figure out a way to get that system to help you do something else, I don't think there's anything wrong with it if you're not stealing resources. Example, myspace is for social networking but it ended being used just as much for marketing/advertising. Some people might consider "friend adders" to be blackhat because it's using the system to your advantage in a way that it wasn't really designed for.

In reality I think there is () this much black and () this much white and (________________________________________________) this much gray. That doesn't give you license to do anything you want -- you should still try to act professionally and ethically, according to your own conscience. But it does mean that you shouldn't stifle your imagination. Often what is unethical or immoral because it defrauds someone else while profiting you, can be turned 100% ethical by simply altering the variables so that it turns from a win-lose situation to a win-win situation. Synergy all the way baby. If you aren't afraid of talking about your strategies for any other reason than competitive advantage then I'd say your okay.

Well, I can't argue with that. Most WH strategies, these day, DO feel like Win-Lose scenarios.

But as the original author put it:
Quote:

THAT is what I think of when I think of BH. Dishonest tactics. Maybe I am misunderstanding. Maybe if I were confronted with some actually useful BH tactics that don't rely on dishonest marketing techniques I would change my tune.

I spent a lot of time developing my own product only to find that fishing for leads for free iPods is much more rewarding.

I think this is good practical insight, but as I noted above, I don't think that "creativity" is what the original author was referring too. I really like the way you worded that paragraph though.
