I just downloaded some adware (HotBar) to a Virtual PC running XP with IE6.

I haven't had adware on my pc for a few years, it seems a little less malware-like now.

I could actually see it being quite useful for inexperienced users that don't automatically think ARGHHHHHHHH &%(*&^% ADWARE!!! and find a removal, it did provide a price comparison for hot searches like "mortgages", "poker", "viagra" etc.

I know some of the wealthy members here own there own pay-per-install businesses, they usually pay $00.20-$00.70 for an installation, but how much do they expect to make out of each active installation per month?

It seems quite a lot, some adware drops affiliate cookies for things like ebay and dell and have PPC results come up for various keywords.

Anyone have any figures?
