Thanks for sharing that insight. Right now, most of my traffic is from the search engines.

But, if I start to do more forum posting I will naturally see the social traffic go up. I think to some degree people on the social sites don't want to see advertising, but on the other hand, they have to understand that running a blog does take time and even some money.

I wonder if people from social sites are more tolerant of affiliate products than text ads?

I would place text ads, and if you can find some affiliate products that are relevant to the forum, then that might be a good option as well. And usually forums use banner ads at the top or along the right hand column, I'm not sure how that would compare to text ads and affiliate links though.

Yup, even i feel if they are tolerant to affiliate products. Even I am gonna start affiliate marketing and I am building my network on some social networking sites. Search engine traffic is hard to get for some competitive keywords.

there are lots of ways to monetize low traffic blogs...adsense, affiliate offers, you name it. I've made money with blogs that get 10-50 pageviews per day...as long as the traffic and offers are good you can covert with even the smallest amounts of traffic...

Exactly there are mnay ways. If you have a good PR site then you could also include paid links or advertisements to earn more. I am currently using affiliate programs to earn money from my blogs.
