Hi there,
I really cant give you the great tips but definitely i can give you some of my best tips through my experience. All this i had learnt through my affiliate marketing with Referforex.com. I started with $150 per month and within 10 months now i am earning around $750 per month. These are some points all should always keep in their mind for choosing affiliate and managing them.
1. Firstly, every merchant should not expect earnings from the 1st day. Also if anyone commits it, this means there is some forge.
2. Good and healthy SEO needed: This means that one shuld not just submit their site anywhere randomly but look for places where the site remains for long and has good traffic.
3. Placing affiliate banners on blogs also helps a lot.
4. Target search engines and make your site more visible.
5. Choose an affiliate program that matches your Web site’s subject matter, is easy for you to implement and offers a high commission.
6. Monitor your commissions and re-evaluate your affiliate program every three to six months. Are you generating revenue? Are there other programs that you should consider joining?
7. Make your site very attractive and update it regularly.
8. Search for reason for making your traffic stay on your site forever.
9. Dont ever try any paid affiliate if you dont know it nicely.
10. Lastly place attractive ads and free offers so that people click them.
Regards

Hi, No problem buddy start with some SEO and join Affiliate Programs. Whats wrong if you can earn something on your blogs. That will sure enhance your moral. I would suggest you to think deeply of Affiliate programs.

May I ask how do you monetize your blog now? Or how do you want to do it?
You see, every making money online has different strategies and one may not be applicable to the other. So the first question would be - where does most of your traffic are coming from? If they are from search engines, then you can use Adsense since they are the real ad clickers.
But if your traffic is coming from social sites or other blogs, then I strongly suggest you work on search engine traffic. Not unless you have your own product to sell. And even so, visitors from social traffic hate ads. They only love reading and leaving comments on blogs.
Hope that helps.

Those seem like great tips to me. I mean, I'm just starting out with my blog, and I haven't read about all of these yet. And to me it seems like most of these lists just recycle old points.
But I have about 10-20 visitors to my blog each day -- is that too soon to put up ads? What's the general minimum that you guys go by?

In my honest opinion, I am not suggesting you not to do it yet especially if you want to make money from Adsense. This is because your traffic may not yet becoming from search engines, and from social traffic instead. By having this, Google will think that the ad clicks came from your friends. Therefore, it might be suspected as click fraud which may cause your account to be banned.
But it is alright if you're into affiliate marketing or selling others products. However, you should have made several posts mentioning something about the product. Otherwise, those few visitors may not buy it. Selling is about credibility, and your posts will define how credible you are.
Hope that helps.

Thanks Richie, that does help. I didn't realize that social sites my be interpreted differently by Google. Most of my traffic comes from such sites, at least 60% at this point. I agree, credibility is the most important in the long run, because that way you can sell products in the future.

My Blog and a sucky Alexa ranking and a zero page rank. Once I got page rank 3 and my Alexa Ranking under 1,000,000 the sites I had signed up with like sponderedreviews, linkxl.com, TNX.net and blogversite.com all started buying paid reviews from my or links on my site.
Your goal should be doing the same so you dont hae to put all your eggs in one baket relying on affiliate marketing.
With selling text links you will get income month to month without doing anything but setting up the code on your site from the first time. It is sweet. That is why your page rank should bbe as high as possible. You could be selling links for 60.00 a month, sell 10 of them your making a nice 600.00 a month off your site from selling links.

That is something I would not recommend. Google penalizes you for selling links and not using adsense to do so. If I were you I would go with affiliate, and adsense. Of course when you decide to put them up is up to you. In addition I would rotate them to see which is bring you more money, and when. From there you can come up with the best solution of ads for your site.

hi there,
yea you can start but you have get involved into aggressive traffic generation task. this will make your blogs or site popular and would help you to drive good traffic.
The minimum payout can be zero in a month too if no body clicks on your banners. Therefore attract blogs with lots of info is very important.
See ya

I think you should spend some time on SEO because generally how much can you get from low traffic in all honesty? Rather than worrying so much about that I'd try and experiment ever so sparingly on that side and devote more time to learning how to drive in more traffic

Hi, put some adsense in it. I had a sucky blog too, and now it's a PR1 and I make about $.60-$5.00 a day in google adsense. You'd be surprised how many visitors click on it. Otherwise you just need to work on building up your pagerank and submitting your url to directories and blogs that allow follow.
