I operate a 6 year old social network type website. I'm including the last 30 days worth of traffic stats. I'd like some other opinions on my analysis. It looks to me like the site is not getting enough new traffic, however the users we do get are loyal. Here are the numbers for you comment. I'd perfer not to name the website right now.. not an advertisement.. guy looking for opinons.

stats generated by google analytics.

if this is in the wrong forum.. please direct me to the proper area mr. moderator.

last 30 days.

Absolutes are really of no use when analysing traffic. It's the trends that matter.

Looking at one month in isolation tells you and us nothing much at all.

Thanks for your response.

The numbers have been relatively flat (+-5%) for at least 12 months.

As Chris stated, one months worth of statistics aren't nearly enough to provide an analysis. If you can provide more data, I could give you a pretty good opinion.

Based on your last 30 days traffic, the first thing I notice is you have a very strong bounce rate which is very typical of social networking websites, it would be good to know the title/url of the website and we can tell if these trends match the average.

The very fact that you have 78% direct traffic is also in your favour, however, your new visits are rather low at 13%, this is suggesting your sign up ratio has dropped over time?

A very good set of figures, post your URL and more detailed stats, 6 months would be sufficient and I will give you some more information.

Thanks,
Andy

The thing that sticks out to me is that your non-direct traffic is 22% of total and your bounce rate is 9.5%. It would be fair to assume that someone going direct to the site is not going to bounce, so around 40% of your new traffic may be bouncing.

Still not that bad!
