hello,
the site is in question is 1st on the signature link.
it is new so there is some stuff i need to sort out first.
but how can i earn money from it.
at the moment i have placed some text ads on the search results page.
but do you think i should put some on the homepage or would that drive away users

dude, keep sending traffic to that site, i mean until it reaches 1000 uniques a day. Then put CPM-based advertising and profit!

But 1000 uniques a day is minimum, targeted traffic is the points.

All your content is from Google? Why use your site and not Google? You need something to make people come back, and to tell their friends this is a cool site. You need a way for them to tell their friends from the site. Be better if you had a top ten list of different hosting provides, and people could save themselves work. Reviews of the sites and a summary of what you get from each provider. Then you could put ads from paid providers that are paying you for the referals. You could place 3 or 4 banners for the different hosting services around the input form.

Just a thought.

it's also got a few ways to make money online as well.

When it comes to your specific site I'd say why not create some sponsored ads for the results page... or get in touch with some file host companies and offer to place an ad on your site for money or as a link exchange...

Really it boils down to traffic. The more traffic you get the more money you can make.

There is no shortage of ways to make money with your site, previous posts are correct, you need traffic to get the ball rolling. The traffic however needs to be targeted and your ads (if thats what you intend to use) need to be targeted too. A good ctr (click through rate) is the key.

Make a marketing plan, decide what visitors you want to attract and go get them. I would always also recommend good seo as organic search engine traffic is always a bonus.

I would say start some good affiliate marketing or paid advertisements or google adsense.

you can earn a lots if you got more visitors searching your site daily. but it is very difficult to achieve. you can place ads like google.

Hi there,

If you feel confidence of your products, you should put it up on Home page.
But if you are just a beginner or not too sure how it well affect the bottom line, you would just start with an article that relates to your product first. As what you said, it won't scared off your readers!

Having a new site and expecting a money out of it at once isn't just as easy as you think. Working hard, testing out new ways of promoting it and getting some good amount of traffic can be a start of having something out of it. And oh, you really need patience, patience and patience.
