So i have made 17.62 cents off 900 or so impressions i cant tell the real number because if i fix my blogger or refresh the page it counts me as one the impressions. But when your doing Adsense you need to remember where your audience looking. Right now your reading this text so if i wanted to put adsense i would put it in the middle of this text. Eyes are the key dont go out and put them on the sidebar and think that that is going to work. sure you can get some clicks but to fully monitize you need to make sure you put it where the eyes and attention will be. That is the key along with making the colors work. Just experiment with those see what works the best but i have found it is best to just make it not out there but make it just a bit different. just work around with the colors testing is the key and you should be making big bucks!

Actually, a lot of people would disagree with you and say that the sidebar is very effective. It looks less spammy and more natural.

By the way, I don't know why you felt the need to make two threads about this. One would suffice.

Placing the ads toward the top has worked better for me. Also, try to make the ads fit in with the page and when possible give them a "related links" heading.

You should make your Adsense ads look as a part of your web page. They shouldn’t look like an Ad. People are negative to advertising. They search the internet for content not ads. Especially for Banners - they have a less of 0.5% response. Their days are over. Imagine if you have an Adsense ad looking like the typical Banner with different colors. It will not be profitable.
