My adsense on my biggest site has been terrible for a LONG time. I had put off doing any tweaking just because I viewed it as such a PIA. (Nothing like throwing away "free" money...)
I decided to tweak a few pages (7 or 8 I think) and 4 days or so after my tweak, my adsense had more than quadrupled. And yesterday was a few dollars more than the day before, and I am already way more than halfway there today, and it's still early in the day. Seems it just keeps going up. I know the increase is from my change, but I am wondering how long it will hold steady, and keep increasing. By no means are these earnings big bucks, but I am just amazed at what a little ad tweaking (color, placement, how many on one page, etc) can do for CTR and CPM. Wow.
Hopefully this is an indication of how great my new year will be with my adsense earnings!!!!!!!

You should wait to see if this settles high like that.

I agree. It went up by a few dollars the next day, then held steady, then dropped quite a bit (but was still much higher than I had ever had previously) and seems to be going slowly back up. I will leave as is for at least several more weeks to see where it's headed, then I will decide on tweaking the other pages...

The major tweaks we need to do is:

1. Ads position (You should always refer adsense hot placement picture from google adsense)

2. Blending of ads

3. Number of ads on a page

4. If you can ,try to add some high paying keywords on the page(arround the adsense code).

See what a difference "testing" can make. All of internet marketing really is about split testing stuff to see which one works the best.

I never heard about the fourth tweak, I will try this one out.

Do the keywords really need to be by the adsense code? I always heard that the keywords you want people to search should be in the title and also in the first 75 words and also have a high recurrence through a page.

How long it will last depends on a few different things.

For example, if your CTR has increased instead of your earnings per click, then that's very good as it shows you have improved your CTR by monetizing your ads.

Now if all your visitors are returning regular visitors, then it could be that they are not use to the ads change, that could mean it could die down sometime.

Now if most of your visitors are from search engines, then more than likely, your CTR will stay roughly the same constantly.

I think you've forgotten one major uncotrolleable factors with adsense, which is how popular are
the ads google put on your paper. One campaign might start, with a pretty full color banner ad
for a great product, yippee you got adsense dollars. But if you get stuck with boring ads for
products no one wants, your not going to make anything. And its completely RANDOM what
add campaign will be running at any time. So you got to expect big fluctuations in your adsense income, a 3 month average might if your luckly actually converage to a average
value, but you might well find the income values never converage, moving like a fractal, or a stock market ticker value.

That's great news. It really does pay off to test various factors with adsense as small changes can make a difference.

A good idea is to have your target keywords physically near your ads.

Well, bottom line BlondeHazel is CONGRATS! I hope things are still going well. I am still tweaking my adsense on a few sites with not much luck. So this is encouraging.
