I wasn't sure where else to put this so...

I'm planning on providing downloads on my site with certain usage restrictions. I've downloaded other web design tools or templates and they all come with a license.txt explaining the usage restrictions.

How do I get a license for my downloads? Is it something I have to obtain or is it just a document I write on my own? I'm a bit confused.

I believe it is something that you have to obtain.

I would suggest the same thing as Chris about using the Open Source GLP. That is the one I used before.
