Hey guys. With the holidays and stuff I've notice the last 2 weeks of December have been utter crap for traffic and of course revenue on my sites. I'm sure a lot of it had to do with people being on vacation and stuff. How did you guys make out? Anyone else notice the same trend?

Here's to hoping for more traffic and big bank rolls in 2011!
Happy New Year.

Have you not been doing this many christmases? From mid nov to mid dec is peak of the year, followed by a big big slowdown, during which technical maintenance work reaches its annual peak whilst the quiet storm is on.

It's the same with fridays and weekends the whole year round, if you're oversensitive to the need for efficient conversion of humans into money, per hour of activity.

Then again, maybe (I'm just trying to spook you) maybe you made a change to your site, or it was in breach of something and finally became disqualified, or something like that, and your demise is permanent. Who indeed knows? Except that it's quite normal to have low activity right now, so stop beating yourself up. No reason to be unhappy. No one else got your traffic. It was asleep on the sofa, stuffed with rubbish television and a lot of food and booze.

Yep that's about the size of it. The Christmas/New Year period is the most noticeable traffic trough because it is a global holiday time.

Thanks guys. That's pretty much what I was thinking. And you're right cannonfodder, Saturday and Sunday are usually crap too. This was my first Christmas where I was hitting major traffic. My sites didn't really start to take off until around September (go live was May of 2010). October was awesome, there was a lull during Thanksgiving but then picked up again. The sudden drop right before Christmas was shocking though. Hopefully next week things will start getting back to normal.

Yes, but on one site I found a post written at 1 am January 1st. Some people prefer working rather than holidaying.
