I have a site with large photo galleries - powered by a Lightbox - and am looking to monetize them.

Essentially - I want to include an ad below the photo - in the Lightbox window that appears over all content.

I've found this to be a place my users spend a good amount of time - and therefore seems to be a great place to display an ad.

I'm currently using prettyPhoto to power the galleries.

Not being a lawyer - and having no luck Googleing (sp? with the 'e'?) if this is or is not against Google's TOS - was looking to see if anyone has had success with a similar approach? Or if anyone has been penalized for such a practice?

Also - if this is indeed against Google's TOS - if there are any ad platforms out there that would allow for such a thing + jive with Google - as I don't want to harm my reputation with them.

From Google AdSense Program Policies

So a Lightbox is viewed as a Pop-Up by Google?

Possibly, possibly not, HOWEVER as the "popup" does not have a URI of its own and is created by javascript, Adsense ads would be displayed because the ad crawler would not be able access the "page"

I can see that being an issue.

What I was able to find online talked about the ads that were shown in the lightbox were irrelevant to the content of the site.

I guess Adsense is out of the question in this case.

So, It's possible to add sponsor ads rather using adsense. Isn't it?
