Hi all

A friend gave me a sub domain to put my website at it and now I have 400 backlinks
I made another website ( different content )
should I create another subdomain for (with backlinks ) or otherwise create a subdomain of the previous subdomain and link them together ( to benefit ) of the previous backlinks

The two websites are not connected in term of content

what should I do create another website with new subddomain or what

If they aren't connected as far as the content goes, then let them both stand on their own feet. Why confuse your visitors?

Keep both. Write yourself a nice review on one site to support the other. Include some anchortext.

A search engine will see a subdomain as a completely different domain. From a search engine perspective

subdomain-1.yourdomain.com
subdomain-2.yourdomain.com

are as different as

domain1.com
domain2.com

So placing the new site on it's own domain or as a subdomain really doesn't make any difference.

I agree with John though that if the topics of the two sites are completely unrelated they are probably best to let them standalone and not tie them together. But again different domain or different subdomain are both going to be seen the same way by search engines so in your scenarios there's no difference.

interesting...

Speaking of subdomains, I have only one right now, but some of the images aren't showing. I checked and they're uploaded ... is this a sub domain glitch or just a probable glitch that I haven't found yet? I confess I haven't taken a lot of time to figure it out because it's online more for reference than anything else so I'm more concerned that the data is all there. Tx...

This is probably a path problem.
Care to share the url of the subdomain ?

Jeni I was thinking the same thing as Thierry. My guess is the path to the image isn't correct. If you want to share the code for the image I'm sure we can help.

moh any link is a backlink. If I link from one page of my site to another it's still a link and it still counts. That internal link probably doesn't carry as much value as an external link (a link from another site) though.

Since subdomains are seen as different sites the link would be considered an external link. The lone link probably has more value than if the link was from the same subdomain. it's not the secret to link building though. There are reasons to keep your content on the same domain.

subdomains are considered by the search engines as a regular url or domain for itself.
