Hey,

I started a blogger blog from around two weeks about getting a free playstation 3. Then I began commenting on other blogs (relevant & non-relevant) but most are non-relevant and had the nofollow tag to get backlinks.

After getting around 300 backlinks from blogs, my site wasn't sill indexed and the pagerank bar is grey and says "No PageRank information available". I used a tool called "Quit Quick Indexing Tool" that claims to get your site indexed in less than 24 hours; my site was indexed in around 29 hours after using the tool and it showed a pagerank of zero and It was white not gray.

After that, My blog was playing around the 5th and 6th pages of search results for the keyword Free PS3. Then I opened the "Cached" page of my blog and it stated that my blog was catched on 5 Sep 2007 17:34:59 GMT.

I slept for approximately 9 hours and when I got up, I checked my blog using "site:" operator and found that It was de-indexed. Then after few hours, it was re-indexed again! but the pagerank toolbar is gray and shows" No PageRank available" and when I checked the "Cached" page again, It still shows the SAME date and time that I stated above! which is 5 Sep and exactly the same hour and minute but my blog no longer shows in any search result page.

From around 3 days, I got PR7, PR6, 2 or 3 PR5, around 5 PR4 backlinks from homepages of some blogs and they are dofollow. I checked the "CACHED" pages of these blogs and I found that they were crawled yesterday with my links on their homepages. However, the Cached page of my blog still shows the same date (not recrawled), the PR bar is still gray, my blog doesn't show again in search results although indexed, and I don't know what is happening!

I have also another blog that shows you hot to get a free ipod. This blog has mostly the same sales letter like the free ps3 blog, so , would this be considered duplicate content so I'm experiencing this?

Please help

1/ Ignore toolbar PR.
2/ Stop checking so often, once a month is more than enough.
4/ Wait about 9 months to a year then implement point 2
3/ Rankings are meaningless. Conversions are what count.

But ask yourself, why would ANY search engine want to list yet another bunch of pages offering the same "free" offers that 50,000 other pages do???

Everything that Hirst said, and to add to it:

1) Toolbar PageRank is updated infrequently and means nothing as a result.

2) Hirst is right about your blog topics. There's nothing original or unique about them. You won't do well in search engines just because you're writing about a topic; it has to be different.

3) You're focusing on a keyword that you stand about as much chance of picking up as I do figuring out nuclear quantum physics. You and about 100 million others all are trying for it, so your odds are incredibly slim right off the top.

4) Why do you need to start a separate blog about the iPod? Start a larger, technology-themed blog and combine the two. It'll be better for you in the long run, assuming you solve the original content issue.

Everything that Hirst & Adam said, and to add to it:
  1. Don't comment on other people's blogs just to get a link out of it. I get one-word comments all the time "cool" or "interesting" or "wow" and mark them as spam, which means that web site, email address, and IP all can't comment on my blog again.
    1. Comment on someone's blog because they posted something interesting, and worth commenting on, or because you can add to the discussion.
  2. "Quite Quick Indexing Tool that claims to get your site indexed in less than 24 hours" sounds black hat, and may be exactly the reason you're having trouble.
  3. "I slept for approximately 9 hours" is not an excuse to stop checking your search rank. It's a biological function, and it's gonna happen every day. If you're taking time away from searching within searches for your site to do things like sleep, you're checking your rank way too often.
