Hi,
I have been online more than a year. MY website :www.webhostingselections.com

does not rank in any search engine and I barely have traffic. Even though I have proper Keywords and many Links in various sites. What should I do? Does anyone have any idea how to deal with this?

Before you worry about search engine ranking, you need to apply the most important SEO principle that there is - providing quality unique content (something of REAL value for visitors). After having a look at your site, I can see several things that need to be improved.

1) There are thousands of review sites out there just like yours - how is yours any different.

2) The links in the top don't even work! This really doesn't help.

3) All the site does is list features of web hosting companies - it doesn't really give any opinion or rating to them. Many hosts get bad publicity but you've basically ranked them on their size or popularity, not on how well they can be trusted. This needs to be greatly improved.

4) As a potential customer, I would see no reason to trust what you say. All of your links are affiliate links, so how do I know they aren't ranked on which host will pay the most commission for a click? You could really do with user reviews as well at the bare minimum.

Remember that if you want any good links, you need to provide something that is directed at visitors and is very useful for them. If you can do this, people will recommend you on their own sites and you will get what's more important - traffic.

You're not ranking because you don't deserve to.

What's unique about what you're doing?
What's original about it?
What particular aspects of your site haven't been done a million times before?

It's a one-page "site" with a table full of "top hosts" that are all affiliate links (and no, the menu at the top doesn't work so don't say it has more pages) and ads across the top. What value does that really offer anyone, vs. say a tophosts.com where customers can review hosts and they're objective?

And even if you solve that issue, you're trying to get search engine traffic in a hypercompetitive market full of people who slit each other's throats for a quarter because most of them have no real business sense. Why bother? You're just wasting your time.

Well my website is unique because I provide the consumers with honest and true information. If you dare to compare my website with any other top ranking webhosting websites you will find that I have totally different companies. They have companies that make that websites, instead I provide a more diverse option to consumer.

I want to get this message across and hope to see my website in a better rank. I will correct those links on the top right away.

Well if there are far more complex and comprehensive review sites out there, there isn't much reason for visitors to go to your site rather than other ones.

OK yep a definite improvement. A further improvement would be allowing users to add their own comments which I think would bring your site up to the standards of many other ones in your field

That personal page looks better. But it's not going to solve your problem, myworksweb...your problem is that you're still doing nothing original. You're simply linking to an arbritarily-assigned "top 10" set of hosts using affiliate links, thus creating economic bias. Furthermore, you don't allow users to determine what the best hosts are, you don't allow user reviews, and you don't have any hosts that don't have affiliate link programs.

This is what makes your idea the kind of idea that doesn't gain search engine traffic. Why? Because it's not of any real use to users. It's biased, it's unoriginal, and there are millions of sites just like it.

You can claim that's harsh, but I'm not telling you anything that the search engines aren't. Original, useful, unique content draws traffic. Unoriginal content doesn't.

i personally dont like those kind of pages anyway they are annoying, I dont trust somone elses webpage to tell me which host is best, i go on peoples reccommendations !

Since you are directly linking to affiliates through Commission Junction, you are very likely being blacklisted by search engines.

Not that this is a choice that's going to be made by democracy, but I'd read this as another vote for user reviews. And you can put me down as yet another. Of course someone working for a host can pretend to be 20 different people through proxies. But that would gain some legitimacy in your readers' eyes.

Something to keep in mind: I have the best photography site on the net. Adam has the best spam humor blog there is. Whym has the best web hosting in existence. In fact you should add him to your list. Everybody has the best site in its category, just like everybody in prison is innocent. You have to look at your site from your users' perspective, and put yours aside. Then you have to be your own worst critic. Those are two of the elements of success.
