There is a theory that any sub-page deeper than 2 pages may or may-not have index problems. (Just a theory)
Whether this is taking in account if the URL's are SEF or not, I'm not sure.
Unless your pages URL's are not SEF & exceed 2-3 Levels deep, I personally don't see the point in having a site Map.... I mean, even if you look at it from a link juice prospective... If the page is all links rather than rich unique content with just a few links, its really not benefiting you there either.
(And thats if it's not totally excluded from the Serp's & placed into the Omitted / Subsidiary list as a web ring, link farm, FFA type page, seeing that your using it in a basic html format.)
