OK so I have tweaked the site, made the layout better, and am getting ready to combine a few sections to lessen the amount of nav buttons.
Site has been up and running for about 3 weeks now, and I am only seeing dribs and drabs of traffic.

I have posted about5 articles to around 5 different article sites.
have a few recip links

submitted to directories but with little success so far, guess they take time with all the sites going up.

submitted to all the big search engines, manually, smaller ones automated

have posted in relevant forums, made the new guy mistake who doesnt know about spam in 2 of them, but have not repeated in others. sorry I did it here as it was my 2nd forum and didnt know all the rules.

I have about 40 pages of content

so am I seeing no traffic because I am impatient and this is normal, or is there something I am forgetting to do? really could use a hand here, have been sifting thru a million tip sites, but mostly just selling SEO tools there.

Yahoo/altvista/all the web shows me at around 140 links MSN shows 8 and Google big surprise 0!

 • Internet Marketing and SEO Talk is the forum this thread should be posted in.
 • Website Review & Suggestions is for site critique on layout, design, logo, appearance, colour, accessibility and so forth.
 • There is no link to follow.

I think almost everyone here can relate to the 'first site' experience. I completely redid mine 3 times before finally settling and I'm still not sure I'm settled.

Be patient, as another member said, "Rome wasn't built in a day".

If you would like suggestions or a review of your content and layout, re-post it to this thread so we can take a look.

Good luck.

Google not only considers the number but also the quality of links that you have. Make sure that the pages/sites linking to you are related to your site. Google is also more on content so update original content regularly.

You'll find better advice in a forum where people talk about getting the right kind of traffic. I'm moving this to the appropriate forum.

Replace Training Tips
with
Training Tips
, then go through the rest of your pages and do the same thing. Break the rest of the text up into a few more levels of headings. These help search engines understand what your pages are about. That's probably the most important change you can make to your markup, although others would help, too.

You're in their index, so work to make your site more attractive - to humans - and have patience.
