Hi,

First of all Hello to all members of this forum, i am new to this forum and i need help regarding ranking.

For a keyword my website ranking on Google is 19, i want my website on Top 10 and i am working on this for last 2 months, when i started working on this project , ranking was very low. Problem is this, ranking is not increasing, its varying between 19 to 27 position

I can do only link exchange for my website, nothing else and i am getting only one one way link

Please help me is it possible to get on first page with just help of link building

You need to work hard is only link building is not a good idea, you need to work with different ways.

URL? And if you're feeling brave, you want to share the keyword, too? I think the risks are two of them, some jack@$$ could try to "steal" your keyword and rank their own site for it just to be evil, and this very thread could start to compete against you to rank for that. I don't think either one is all that likely, but I also gotta point out the risk as I see it. Only because people don't seem to like sharing their keywords on forums.

With that said, it sounds like you been doing a lot of optimization, but we can't answer the question you asked (how effective is it?) without looking at your site. There's all kinds of advice we could give you, like make sure your keyword is in the page title, but you probably already did that one, so it would be a waste of breath.

EDIT: Why don't you put a link to your site in your signature like the rest of us do? You can use your keyword as the anchor text, which will give you only the most limited help in ranking, but some.

Do some keyword research for the keywords that you have selected to optimize your site for. Your listing will depend on the keyword competition. Select some low and moderate competitive keyords at the beginning and then you can build up plans to optimize your site for some highly competitive keywords. Use the keywords in your content keeping in mind the right keyword density. Then start exchanging links with other related sites and ask your links partners to link back to you using keyword rich anchor texts. After doing all these tasks just wait and let google update itself.

Ravi, you're chasing a rainbow here. But to be fair, most people end up doing the exact same thing. I'd even go so far as to say everyone starts out doing the same thing.

What's the rainbow? Obsessing over search rank, and thinking link building will get you there, especially two months' worth. Search engine referral traffic, particularly with Google, is not an overnight thing...it takes months, and sometimes years, and sometimes doesn't happen at all.

Not only that, rank checking is a useless activity. You're seeing variance between 19 and 27 in terms of your site's position when you look. It can often be much greater than that, due to things such as personalization, different datacenters, different servers, geotargeting, and other such factors.

You also mentioned that you "can only link exchange" and you don't seem to be getting one-way links. This suggests that there's a deeper issue with your site. Why can't you get one way links? More importantly, why can't you get organic one way links? Things like consistent navigation, clean code, and other user experience factors come into play here, and this is what is usually wrong with someone's site when they ask a question like you just did.

achieving a goal needs time. and for you to achieve it, you must be patient. with two months working duration as you said, for me its still raw/new, also the others as they see, I think.

in my own experience, I'm stuck at page 4 to page 5 of Google SERP. What I do is I regularly update my site without minding my SERP position. Without noticing, my SERP position is improving slowly everyday. I've observed that it naturally increased its position with just continuous updating.

time really is the key for ranking in SERP. I suggest not just wait for it, while waiting, of course do some improvements to make it on the first page.
