umm, are you trying to find out in order to support an argument with a friend or co-worker as to who got listed first? (Personal Competition or something)

I'm not sure of the importance for the back tracking or in what way that information could benefit your current campaign strategies.

Unless of course you were doing some type of research project as to verify indexing speed for a specific engine. This of course would take at least 3-5 new domains all launched at the same time, using identical strategies in order to verify with any accuracy.

After that you would launch another 5 domains using a totally different strategy, measure the result & compare notes.

Then continue repeating this process with different strategies in order to produce a rather robust research article on "Increasing Index Speed Research".

That may be the only exception I can think of right now as to the importance of your query..

Could you enlighten me a bit on your needs? I just so happen to LOVE researching & would be interested in your Data, If thats what you are doing.

The reason being, I had a client who I built a site for - say his website has only just appeared on google last week. But I think it has been on it for a good few months.

I just wondered if I could check it anyway.

If he has any search engine referral traffic from it from a few months ago, that would be a sign. Check raw logs and/or site stats.

Other than that, you really don't have anything to go on.

Is there a cached copy of some of the indexed pages, that may show an early date.
