Your pimping an SEO book with a while trying to sell links in your signiture?

Is that an effective SEO technique? I thought buying links was a waste of time. What's your professional opinion?

as Far as the book goes we wrote it up actually for clients, but after I seen how much attention it drew through social networks I decided to send free copies of it to every one.

As far as the links go why not buy them. Any one would recommended there clients to buy them such as

V7n
SEOMOZ
Webuildpages.com (Jim Boykin)
and of course us

and many more. Only other way your going to get links is through natural linking which of course thats how we got our rankings was through natural rankings we have never bought a link for our site well I take that back we bought some editorial links in directories thats about it.

Just to clarify, are you talking about link building services where you help your clients get quality back links, or are you actually paying for the links? Maybe I'm missunderstanding what SEO pros do.

It would seem to me that in the first case, someone would be paying for an SEO experts time, and in the other, you'd just be paying someone to put up a link to your site, not becuase they think it's a quality site. Maybe I've missed the boat on this one.

If your asking if we get client links yes I consult with them on where to get links at or how to get them, or they buy our contextual links, or we do monthly link building campaigns which start at $2500

Advertising and self promotion is not allowed. Why do people seem to think that advertising their services outside of the marketplace is perfectly acceptable? It just seems like a form of spam

if you consider advertiser offering valuable content that will help the forums expand then you got things twisted. When you allow people to offer valuable content it draws more users into the site, if your a marketer you should know that.

Self Promotion would be a little different, but someone offering some free educational information would be very helpful for the community and the forums, but hey its your forums i guess if thats what you think.

Actually, whym, I might have a solution for this.

tdd1984: send the guide to me. I'm a moron who knows nothing about SEO anyway, according to you, so it would be to your benefit to educate me. I'll even do you the favor of an unbiased review of the content on my blog on Thursday, as well as offering a Cliff Notes version here. All you have to do is to PM me and send me the link or whatever.

I absolutely agree. The forum rules apply to everyone, regardless or whether what you are doing is downright spam or just something that a couple of people might be interested in.

Try to be a bit more respectful in the future and read those rules before you continue to post.
