Backlinks that are embedded in content.

Like in forum posts (not signatures), articles, blog posts, social network profiles, etc.

This might just be the way I view it, though when one speaks of QUALITY ORGANIC IBL's I perceive that as - A website owner (Webmaster) that found my content so useful / motivating / Or Viable that they placed a direct Anchor link on a relevant / Viable web page that points to my page (In question) as an authority & or example to support their own claim / Statement.

Now, with the above in mind it kinda makes the picture a bit clearer as to what type of IBL's are the most important to me.

Now of course the linking sites own Viability & authoritarian stature will play a roll in the overall algorithmic juices it passes to me. Being Organic, it's beyond my control as to everyone that links to me, so My conclusion is to not worry so much about who links to you & focus more on your own quality & viability.

Build it & they will come!

(I got that saying from a movie about a guy that builds a baseball diamond in his corn field & then the spirits of the famous ball players of the past come & play a game on it)

Back Links From a High Page Rank will give you quality backlinks. its does't mater if its a blog or forum or Directories.

Some Blog Use "nofollow" html attitude so posting in that type of blog will not give you any backlinks it considered as spam.

Nofollow is a must now that google has started slapping websites for linking back and forth, especially if you are selling links or sponsor spots on your site.

Honestly, just find good quality sites that match your target audience / content type and do link exchanges. That is your safest bet, don't waste your time submitting to 23424274823498273 directories. They don't seem to carry any weight these days.

What on Earth does Page Rank have to do with Quality? I have seen some of the crappiest, low quality, pointless site pages with high PR, I'm not sure you read ANY of the posts in this thread prior to posting your misleading answer.

Yeah, we as human know that high page rank site doesn't neccessarily equate to good quality pages, but for googlebot high page rank does equate to high quality page, unfortunately this the way how google works.

You must have read the same self proclaimed Guru book he did if you think that just because a site has enough inbound links that got it a high PR (Which means didly squat) that they are of any quality at all.

People who base any type ranking or success of a site from PR, simply adds to the reason why most internet businesses FAIL!
