Hello,
Yes, It's the basic knowledge of SEO but most people use keywords in title and alt tag they include many keywords in a single tag and it also meaningless. Will google give prefrence or not and how it will catch it.

Considering he advertises for SEO services, that would be scary for his clients if he was just learning that.

I use the nofollow value for the rel attribute, for i don't sure the site i link to is good or no, does this useful if the site i link to has been punished before to avoid being involved?

I agree with the alt tag and its importance in the search engine optimization.
I wonder whether the image should also be saved in the same name. Does that part also have any value?

The reason for why i am asking is, I own a shopping website and by having the picture name, alt tag and the content of the page having the same 'keyword' make my product page optimized for the name of the product?
< linkdrop removed>

Did you even READ the first post?

Here is where much confusion has been created. The alt attribute of the image element is of particular interest to anyone looking to optimise their pages for search.
The attribute exists to provide alternate text to be displayed in user agents that are not enabled with image rendering capabilities.
As search engine indexers cannot "read" or "see" images, the content of the alt attribute, the alt text, is used to determine the context of the image OR, if the image is used as a link the alt text is used as the anchor text. For the SEs where anchor text is used to reinforce the target page content, this is an important point.
BUT it is NOT a tag it is an attribute.
As with all visible HTML elements, the image element has a "title" attribute which has absolutely no use for search but should NOT be confused with the title element, which is without doubt the most important element on the page.
The MAIN reason why Chris wrote this post was because so many people infer the alt attribute as a "tag", among other HTML faultiness...

As for your inquiry, have you noticed the results you'd like when altering the text? Do the SE's provide enough traffic for you or are you unsatisfied with the lack of visitors beforehand?

Or else. I'd recommend just starting a new thread to ask about it.

so if I am right (and I'm usually not), as far as SEO goes:

< title > is good to have keyword/phrases because it is a TAG, and recognized by SEs.

the ATTRIBUTE "title" is worthless as far as SEs go because it doesn't look for it?

the ATTRIBUTE "alt" can be important in regards to SE because SEs DO look for or recognize this element within the TAG?

(is the "alt" attribute also how google often returns a result of "images" or is it simply pulling these up through the "img" tag alone?)

As for "nofollow" I am guessing that a forum such as this one would use those for any links in a signature as a sort of 50/50 chance of covering their self in the event it leads to a site or page that isn't allowed by the SE or adsense, etc?

the "vote-for" ..is that really an attribute?

Thanks for the clarification!
